Buying the doors at HD
I need 21 doors, special order due to their sizes. Long story short, after wasting so much time with some local vendors, I was helped by one store manager, Elijah, who spotted me explaining to one inexperienced personnel. He was very knowledgeable about the whole process, how and where to find what I need, and very thorough. A great experience and thank you, Elijah, you are the best!

Doors are messed up
We were trying to buy 2 doors. The doors were not in their slots and we couldn't find what we wanted despite the app saying 2 were in stock. Other door was the wrong size we found out at checkout. No employee was the least bit interested in fixing the problems.

Like every Home Depot, only worse
The ONLY thing I can say that is super fantastic about the Bollinger Store is that it has a good location. Otherwise, it is people with staff that know NOTHING about tools, about hardware, about lumber. (There are a few people that know a thing or two about plants in gardening.) Like every HD, parked out with illegally parked Contractors, Mercedes, and Range Rovers across the front of store FIRE LANE. Those vehicles NEVER TOWED ever, so everyone in the store subject to extreme RISK of DEATH in a fire (at a LUMBER YARD! e.g. Wood products are flammable.) Product offering is immense, and yet poorly executed and selected. Expertise has vanished. LITERALLY HAD to go to 6 people in the store, to get one that knew what a wood dowel was. Then explained what I want, a 6 inch to 6 ft. 1/2 to 3/4 inch wood dowel (stick) (that HD stocks) and got taken to 1/2 inch mitre type dowels. Had to find it myself, took another 30 minutes in the store.
Perhaps service is better for people that speak Chinese, or one of the Indian dialects, or Spanish. I don't know, I live in America, so I speak English, and does not serve me at this Home Depot.
The checkout cashiers in the self-service line are rude. Its stupid that they are self-service lines, but given that is the situation in America and Home Depot today, the "watchers" can at least just do that, and then come over when ASKED, or when the the "Customer Needs HELP" flashing lights go off. What I do NOT need is a pushy Indian inserting themselves into my business without being asked to do so, and having really NO REASON WHAT SO EVER to be doing so.
Its like now there is a self-importance posturing and competition for the "we don't know anything" except how to call the one guy in the store that does know something, and ask him to help you.... THIS collection of do nothings, I don't need that type of "help" in my life, nor do I even want to spectate that at a place I do business.
It is kind of hard to understand the thinking at Home Depot. Every single RIDGID tools is locked up in a cabinet. Which means that every single tool of that type you might buy, you have to hunt down a staff person for to unlock the cabinet. You cannot read the box, they want to WALK IT TO THE register for you. Talk about being treated like a CRIMINAL. I HATE THIS STORE (and all HD really). In the SAME EXACT STORES, you have "special" deal MILWAUKEE and Dewalt stuff out blocking the aisles so no one can get buy with a cart with pipe, or even plastic PVC Sched. 40. So THAT stuff I guess doesn't need security escort to the register. Or perhaps its that I just look like a contractor, and I am not Chinese or Indian, that I am deemed some type of security risk as this store.
NO ONE would treat their mother this way, OR ALLOW HER to be treated that way, they way this store treats its customers.
The whole idea on the "sell" to customers for self-service (aside from padding Home Depot's wallet) was to cut wait times. But then there nearly always only 4 registers open, and there is always a long wait for stupid people to self-checkout, who cannot. There are 8 to 10 other registers, never open, because they will not pay another salary to "watch" those.
While once there were in fact experts working plumbing and electrical, I haven't seen such experts in 5 years, really not since COVID started. I don't think they can stand working there, and they have not returned.

Their online ordering does not work
I placed an order for some shelf brackets. Needed 30 since I was building shelves all along a wall of my garage. Website said they had 65 in stock at the De Anza Blvd. store. OK, so I placed the order for a store pickup and got a confirmation by email. A few hours later, I got a call from the staff at the store. They did not have ANY of the brackets that I had ordered. Website had said 65 in stock. The actual number that the staff had found when they went to get my order was ZERO!
I then placed the same order at the Home Depot in Santa Clara. Same thing happened. Website said more than 30 in stock. I placed the order. Got an email confirmation. I made the 25 minute drive to the store. This time the store only had 3 in stock.
So don't do online ordering from Home Depot and then expect to pick the items up at the store, even if you get a confirmation email. Their inventory system apparently has no clue about what is in stock.
Next I tried to order the same thing and get the items delivered. Not sure which store would be fulfilling the order. But I figured that if they don't have the stock, at least I won't be out of an hour of time driving to the store and finding out that the stock wasn't actually there. This time it worked. I got all of the brackets that I ordered.

Poor Customer Support in Carpet Dept
We had a most disappointing experience trying to order carpet. We brought records of our past carpet purchases from HD and asked the customer service person if we could order the same thing again. He did not know how to read the HD paperwork or look up what was available. Instead of searching on the computer, he went to the carpet samples and started to flip each one over one by one. He did not really know how to use the computer and it was painful to watch him work. We were able to get our questions better answered by researching on our phones. Hope HD finds this person a different position at the store.

Waited to get case unlocked, but nobody showed
After talking to HD team members 5 times and waiting 20+ minutes for someone to unlock the case to buy a socket for a ratchet, I just gave up and left. When I told a team member this when I was leaving, she just shrugged.

Bring back Orchard Supply
No one at the Home Depot is competent in the garden area. All they can do is ring up your purchase and with self serve they don’t even do that.

Terrible customer service as always at Home Depot
Asked a Home Depot employee for help to recommend a product to patch broken asphalt and got a response of "you could search the internet" and no further help. Gee, I never thought to search there since there are such helpful human customer service people at my least favorite store brand.

Cheated my $$ and never refund me
The store charged me $9 for carbon boxes, but never delivered, I cancelled the 2 nd order. Now they hold my money, request me go to store to use my ID get it. I paid by my gift card and ordered online. The money need to be refunded back to my original card. Or mail me the check. A woman store manager is very rude, cut the call. They stole my money!

Below Average Home Depot
I've been shopping the Bollinger Home Depot since it opened. I sourced much of the plumbing, electrical and lumber for a major remodel / home addition 20+ years ago and have been a regular shopper since then. The in-store shopping experience has really declined over the years. The employees, if you can find one, try to help you find or access the items on your list. However, the store is poorly stocked and I often leave without fulfilling my shopping list. I've started using other online retailers if I am planning ahead or using a local hardware store, if I am in urgent need of a part for a repair project. The Bollinger store is closest to my home, but I find the shopping experience in other local HD stores (Sunnyvale, Campbell, Hillsdale) to be significantly better.

Serena - Kitchen design team
My contractor has a design team, but they are not as patient as Serena. She went out of her way to put my the dream kitchen together. She is amazing and made numerous designs of floor plans to help me visualize my kitchen. I'd highly recommend working with Serena if you want a good kitchen remodel!

Online ordering pickup in returns line
I have the Home Depot app to make buying products easier. Pick your items, pay, and wait for the items to be ready for pickup. Now comes the stupid part. Have to wait in the returns line for online order pickup. Why there is not a separate line is beyond me.
Several time, the returns line is 4-5 people long. I end up just getting the items in the store myself and letting my online order expire. This wastes the employees time by having to pick the items only to have to put them back days later. I’m not going to wait 15 minutes to get my items that are already paid for.

Fine store, terrible employees.
I had a fine time finding what I needed at the store, but when I asked an employee to help me get something that was unlocked, he didn’t seem to really want to help, and then on getting the item for me, he yelled at me because I didn’t hear him the first time, “WHERE DO YOU WANT TO CHECK OUT”, and I was very confused and wanted to say the cash register???? But he then clarified he meant the right or left side of the store, but who asks that.. Then during checkout another HD gentleman came up to me as I was paying with my card and the payment processor was not getting my card’s NFC chip. He then condescending tells me I should use the chip correctly l, proceeds to try again and then realizes the machine is broken, but still not after telling me I was using it wrong.
Both of these employee interactions were less than stellar and honestly you need to hire employees that are okay working there and will generally be happy and nice to customers. More than half the employees here are above 60, which is fine, but please at least hire if they are good in customer service.

Generally helpful but service at store can certainly be better
We were looking for replacing a door. Figuring out how to even reach out for help has been a challenge. Certainly some aspects can be improved in terms of customer service. Eventually we were directed to a counter for help where we are supposed to talk to some one . But this person was only taking an order for door and ordering installation. Would be nice if some one can understand customer's needs and direct accordingly. Eventually we found what we needed but had to go through hoops to get there. The person taking the order was helpful and we eventually got to order what we wanted. The installation appointment was through a third party and that was another three weeks after the door was delivered. The installation window was not clear. So, I had a door delivered after a week of ordering at the store, and the third party installers came in after three weeks to fix it. If I knew earlier that installation would take time, I would have bought the door at store, and used my own contractor to pick it up and get it done quickly. Ultimately, the installation was very good though. But definitely lot can be improved in terms of keeping customer well informed on the timelines.

Poor service, broken merchandise
I only shop here because my nearby OSH was closed. Hard to find anything at this store, and no help from employees. I just bought an item that obviously had been returned (missing hardware,) anwhile ago I returned a broken item and saw them put it back out on the floor a few minutes later. Why do they do this?

Easy to do business with
Very pleased my visit to the Home Depot - Store #6635. Found everything that I wanted. Especially please with the paint department. The sales person - female - was very helpful in matching a Kelly Moore paint color - difficult to get KM paint now that all their stores are closed.

Deep Freezer exchange took an hour
Customer service for an exchange is horrible.. It took an hour to do an even exchange and I'm disabled and can't stand that long with a very bad lower back. When you 1st walk in you walk into a bunch of fly's in the entrance and when you go to self-check-out it's the same with the fly's. When you ask someone where Appliances is they ask you what kind they it clicks and tells you that it's in the back of the store. I have never been to this store and will never return. I will stay going to the ones closer to my home..
