What additional precautions is The Home Depot taking in light of COVID-19?
The adjusted hours give stores the ability to staff appropriately and provide additional time to restock shelves and perform cleaning. As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we've increased the frequency of cleaning and general hygiene maintenance in stores and other locations. We've also stepped up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas like self-checkout, door handles, and bathrooms, as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions.
We're promoting social distancing in our stores and distribution centers, which includes stores limiting the number of customers inside at any given time. In addition to training our associates on social distancing, we've placed distancing markers at some of our checkout counters and are making overhead announcements on our store PA systems asking customers to practice social distancing.

This store is an absolute mess. Trash and merchandise everywhere. Every aisle blocked with stuff in the way. Store was dirty and not following social distancing or mask rules. There is a Lowe’s across the street, i advise you take your business there.

Ordered OnLine and paid for express delivery. Ordered 6 boxes of liquid chlorine $75.86. 3 Boxes delivered with 2 gallons in each box next day for $14.99 express delivery. I was then emailed that I had to pick up the other 3 boxes at the Boynton Store with 3 gallons in each box. I ordered online to avoid going to the Store and lifting the boxes. I had to cancel the 3 boxes. Refused to deliver additional 3 boxes to my house and wanted extra to deliver the incomplete order. I would not recommend this store for delivery.

I bought several gallons of paint on 7/9/2020.. Some of it was actually darker than expected once I walked outside... I waited til the next day to exchange it... The Home Depot has policy posted on its website as of today 7/10/2020 which states: Return Policy on Paint Paint Satisfaction Guarantee Policy: If you are not 100% satisfied with your interior or exterior liquid paint purchase, bring your paint and receipt back to the store within 30 days of purchase. We will make it right by correcting your paint or giving you a comparable can of paint. Policy excludes: Application issues and improperly prepared surfaces, liquid stains, color samples, “OOPs” merchandise, special order, non-stock products, 3rd parties and marketplaces, labor and installation. We reserve the right to limit guarantee at our discretion in the event of suspected fraud or abuse... I was trying to exchange a 5g bucket of paint I purchased less than 24 hours prior. I was greeted by the paint supervisor who advised me that I would need to buy a $50 can of white paint in order to lighten what I had and even at that point he could not guarantee the outcome. He even suggested I “go home and pour some out” so he could mix the dark paint with the white paint.. He advised me that other than that option, he WOULD NOT sign off on an exchange or return bc “I” picked the paint & their policy doesn’t allow returns/exchanges... Well who is else going to pick it? Now while I completely understand paint colors vary and it may be difficult to resell it, THEIR POLICY said I could exchange it- therefore I expected them to honor it... Ok so at this point the store mgr explains to me that they do not exchange paint. I pulled up their company policy (above) and asked where does it say I CAN’T exchange the paint- regardless of who picked it, regardless of whether I changed my mind for whatever reason etc.. Even the young employee that prepared the paint for me advised I could exchange it if it didn’t work out.. The manager knew she was wrong and I was right and she eventually, reluctantly agreed to the exchange. It took 13 mins to reach this decision. She walked away from me when I pulled the policy up without letting me know to “give her minute” etc. I had no idea what she was doing when she walked away. I felt as if I was almost pleading with her honor THEIR policy.. The Home Depot clearly needs to reword their paint return policy and make sure to post it on the counter and have each employee trained to inform customers that they actually do NOT accept paint returns, exchanges, color alterations etc and in the event they AGREE to an exchange, the customer may incur an additional cost.

This visit was excellent for several reasons. First, Brian in hardware was extremely helpful on advising me on a RIDGID ProMax tool, that I ended purchasing and it has been great. Secondly, Tamica the store manager, if I’m spelling her name correctly was also extremely helpful with a large mulch purchase, I needed to make of 30 bags and I ended up purchasing additional 10 because of her customer centric assistance. Both Brian and Tamica exemplified professional attitudes with a friendly smile that made my shopping experience pleasant.
