Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used for composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our local communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you stock large outdoor Halloween decorations?
Yes, we stock several types of colossal outdoor Halloween decorations, several of which are animatronics. Make your front yard the creepiest on the block with giant Halloween decor options, including reapers, skeletons, and witches. Skelly, the 12-foot skeleton, and Dean the Deathologist, a dapper bartender, are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables tend to be less scary and are an excellent choice for homes with children.
Should I get an inverter generator or a portable generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with tornados, hurricanes, or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements knock it out. When considering different generators for sale, remember that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
How can I prepare my home for the winter?
Make sure your home is ready for winter weather by replacing any broken or faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in the crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine shingles or metal roofing panels for damage or rust that could let water leak into your home. Gutters should be clear to prevent ice dams. Check cinder block and bricks for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped out if damaged.
How can I make more space for the holidays?
As you prepare for the holidays, stow unused items to free up space. Shoe racks and other storage bins take summer belongings out of the equation. Garage cabinets keep tools, decorations, and more out of the way. Protect fragile items with moving blankets. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty of it.
How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
Home Depot gift cards are an excellent present for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. You can buy gift cards at our stores or online at homedepot.com. If you receive a gift card, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards in-store or use them to shop online with no additional fees.
