Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store saved on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment and our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

Is there a sale on vanities?
The Home Depot Winter Bath Savings Event runs from January 2nd through February 19th, and it covers so many items that you could also call it a vanity sale or a toilet sale. Don't forget to replace your floor and wall tile, showers, and bathtubs to match. You can make the whole process even easier when you contact our pros for vanity installation or toilet installation — then all you have to do is appreciate your beautiful new bathroom.
Is The Home Depot having a Presidents Day sale?
The Home Depot is having a Presidents Day Appliance Sale from February 13th through March 5th. It's time to update those outdated appliances with new ones. Check out deals on refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and more, too. Shop online now on our mobile app or drop by to see select sale appliances at the store.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for whatever circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with strong winds, snowstorms, or thunderstorms, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity when the elements knock it out. When searching generators for sale, keep in mind that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows.
Should I make siding repairs before it gets cold?
Make sure your home is ready for cold weather by replacing any broken or faulty parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in the crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine roofing shingles or metal roof panels for damage or rust that could let water in. Gutters should be cleaned to prevent ice dams. Check cinder block and bricks for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, swap chimney caps and vinyl siding if they're damaged.
Do you have doorbell cameras?
Enjoy privacy, safety, and peace of mind with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through a nearby window or peephole when you can see animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off would-be porch pirates. Several cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you easy and flexible accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
