Good
The store was clean and I found everything but the associate that I talked to was going to tell me something and his phone rang so he told me to hold on and I was waiting on him until I gave up.

standard Home Depot
Its a very standard store. Every one is has the same layout, products, etc. The associates are neither well-trained nor experienced in their particular field, if they even have one. While they are professional and polite, it is clear that very few have any working knowledge of home improvement, DIY, construction, or any of the other myriad areas involved with hardware stores like Home Depot. The store itself is so large, that even finding an associate to help you is a chore and more often than not, THEY have to go find another person more knowledgeable! It takes too long. Within individual sections of the store, because it is so huge, many shelves, boxes, etc. are very unorganized, not often replenished, or missing altogether. I believe that this is a result of too few employees. They can't cover the whole store! Its not realistically possible.
I am much more inclined to support local hardware stores because they are almost always more knowledgeable (therefore have a better capacity to help me), the stores are better organized, and my money stays in my hometown. However, Home Depot's inventory is huge, so I need to go every once in a while when my smaller store does not have something. That is my only reason for going to Home Depot. I would be more likely to go more often if my above complaints were addressed.

Save a buck, lose a regular customer
Tried to take advantage of a "buy 1 get 1 free" promotion on a shelf, only to be told by the self-checkout cashier that the offer passed 3 days ago. However, the promotional sign on the shelf did not reflect an expiration date. The cashier fixed everything by simply removing the sign, then telling me the store would not honor the offer.

Awesome Associates
It is always a good experience when I go into the Galveston, TX store. Associates are great and go above and beyond to assist customers. And they always have what I need.

good store experience
The helpfulness of the clerk was the deciding factor to purchase my supplies at this store compared to going to Lowes.

Great store experience! The associates were knowledgeable of the product, were able to advise on purchasing the product.
A couple of the isles were cluttered, and one was completely blocked, but product availability was great....,thanks to the help I got I was able to purchase the correct colors and type of paint for the job I was doing.

Always a great experience!
Being the creative director of a building and constantly having new projects, brings me to the Galveston Home Depot weekly. I am pretty familiar with the store and where everything is located. Each time I walk in, I am greeted with a smile. It seems what I need is usually in stock and if not, when I ask an associate, they tend to find what I'm looking for in back stock. I recently had to order custom blinds for the first time and decided to do it in store instead of online. Luis was the associate who helped me and he went above and beyond to make this purchase a great experience. I was a bit picky but he spent the time to make this a great experience and make sure I got exactly what I was looking for. Thank you Galveston Home Depot!

Best Opportunity for Improvement
Bring a lot of patience to this store and be prepared to move the inventory in the isles out of the way so you can maneuver your cart through the maze.

Not a Bad store exprenice
As I said in my earlier statement, The associate had to be found to answer my questions, and he had to be found again to answer the rest of my questions. He also tried to sell me sometime that I didn't need. Tried to explained the electrical code to me and my friend, who was a license electrician.

Great Shopping Experience
Arrived at the store and found the electric scooters clean and fully charged Shopped with my senior citizen mother on the scooter for hours. Began in the garden department looking for seeding cups or seed starter kits. Learned from an associate that the seed starter kits were a featured item at the main entrance. Mom tried to un-shelf a display that was hung outside the shelving display area of the power yard tools aisle as she tried to navigate new stock left in boxes in the aisle. She went to the bathroom and found it to be clean. She received help finding a coil of rope and I shopped the garden department further for accent plants, but didn't find the plants I was looking for. We were checked out by Iris and we packed our car without help and left. Short sweet, a nice outing all in all.

Friendly cashiers, but do your research before you go
I'm really happy to have a Home Depot close to home. Unfortunately, it's hard to get help finding stuff or finding out details about stuff. It's a great store if you already know exactly what you want, where it's located in the store, and the product is on the shelf. I wasted a lot of time today waiting for someone to help me find a ceiling fan and had to leave with only part of my list of things that I needed. Thanks to the friendly cashier who made the last part of my experience pleasant. Maybe it was just an off day.

I got everything for which I came.
An associate helped me find the main item I sought. Not all lengths were in stock, but I was satisfied generally with the selection. I don't like the far distance between the entry and the checkout and exit. If you park close to the entry, you have a far distance to walk after checking out and that exit. However, without large items, you can return to the entry and use it for an exit without walking farther than necessary. Important to me since I have arthritis in the knees. Garden section is great for plants & shrubs & seasonal assortments.
