When it's time to leap into a big DIY project, you might not have everything you need to get the job done. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Garner Tool and Truck Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Start your next DIY project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Garner Tool Rental Center expand your toolbox with the tools you don't have on hand. You can rent what you need and bring them back when the job is done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to keep up with your yard. Fall will be here in no time, so have a leaf blower ready. It's far less work than raking. It's also easier on concrete sidewalks, hardscaping surfaces, and driveways. Choose from handheld, backpack, or walk-behind leaf blowers.
Generators
Whether you're working in a remote location or running a large welding machine, you'll probably want to rent a generator. Generators also keep basic electrical appliances running if the power goes out. Make life easier during fieldwork or after extreme weather knocks out your power.
Heaters
If you dislike working or being outside in cooler temps, browse our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They're safer than torch patio heaters because they have no open flame, and they also blow the hot air for greater coverage. We carry gas, propane, and electric heaters in various sizes. Couple this with good outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the evening hours with the extra warmth.
Truck Rental
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep pickup trucks as well as Penske moving trucks on hand, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for moving and transport as well.

How do I rent a tool or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to know what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You could also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool for a week?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You have options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. You'll likely not get a sharp blade when you rent, as most people won't leave one on there when they return it. However, you might get lucky and receive an excellent blade on the saw. Since there's no guarantee, it's better to purchase a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so review those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
