When you're ready to kick off your next DIY project with confidence, you want the correct tools for the job. In many cases, The Home Depot Tool and Truck Rental Center can help you expand your toolbox and your garage. We're known for quality moving truck, power saw, and tool rentals.
Tool Rental
Start your home improvement project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Lake Forest expand your tool belt with the items you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and return them when the job is done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, you can buy our used tools. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Rent Shop Vacs, Floor Sanders, Post Hole Diggers, and More
Tackle major projects with serious power tools. Take your scuffed wooden flooring to the next level with a rental floor sander and a shop vac rental to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Build a new fence around your property faster and more efficiently with a rental fence hole digger, then find other concrete equipment rentals that suit the job at hand.
Tame the Lawn and Trees
Greet the summer with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Trim the hedges and trees with a chainsaw rental, neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and string trimmer, and blast the driveway clean with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for summer fun in no time.
Truck Rental
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep pickup trucks as well as Penske moving trucks on hand, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for storage needs, DIY projects, and packing, it's easy to make us your go-to source for moving and transport, too.

How do I rent tools and trucks?
Stop by your local rental center to see what's available. If you'd like to know what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You may also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions. Larger tools and all rental trucks require CLEAR verification.
How long can I rent tools?
You can rent a tool for four hours or longer. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You have options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean any residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you purchase your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you may luck out and receive an excellent blade on a tile saw, for instance. As there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. You'll go through CLEAR verification and the requisite selfie. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
