Elliott & Sons Fencing- (Same post. I feel strongly about my statements.) Home Depot is my store of preference. With that said, I still do shop the other home improvement stores only for the reason that each of the 3 major home improvement stores available in my area offer different products that the other does not. Whether it be the type of product offered or the price of the product, it's more about the right product for the job at hand. It's always good to have choices to get the job done right. I don't work for myself, I work for the client. It’s more important to please the client, than it is to shop at only one specific store. Building fences is my forte and require a variety of products. Home Depot at one point had 1x4x4 cedar dog eared pickets on hand right off the shelf, but now does not. What a huge disappointment. For a product that is just as widely used as the 1x6x6 cedar dog eared picket, it is now a special order item, which also comes with a bigger price tag because of that. (Not by HD, but by the supplier.) Instead of ordering thru HD for this item, I now shop at the other home improvement stores for that product. I want hands on to pick my own product, not picked by someone else thru a special order. This is unacceptable. Not only do I shop at another store for 1x4x4 cedar DE pickets, but I have also gone to another store for treated 4x4x8’s because of poor quality. The quality of the 4x4x8’s has diminished since changing suppliers. I have to have the best of the best to build the best fence possible for a client that expects to have a quality fence. I want to keep my business at HD and if HD brought back the 1x4x4 cedar pickets to the store shelf and improved the quality of the treated 4x4x8’s, I will purchase those items from HD.

Good store to shop at! I have patience, but have seen other customers expect more out of the store employees. I have personally talked with other customers that are upset because they see, and I know, that there are not enough employees on hand to help customers during busy times.

I had excellent help finding the correct fluorescent bulbs I was in search of. A very nice female employee helped with backup from Frank. I also purchased quart sized mums at a very reasonable price.

This store is great due to its people

Friendly employees but personally I think you need several experienced employees in each department and all times instead of just the one or two that always seem to be busy.

There are few choices in home repair stores in Lawrence, so it is the customer service that sets these establishments apart. Garrett is one of those employees that makes you happy that you shopped at the store. He is genuinely focused on making sure that you find what you need, and if you cannot, he will help to find a solution.

One of the best Home Depots I've ever visited. The employees are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, in particular, if you want flooring, see Keith - he's one of the most outstanding employees this store has! I will not shop at any other hardware store ever again. Fantastic employees!!!!

Great staff at paint counter.

This store has been consistently disappointing. We have been given incorrect information on the phone and unhelpful information in the store. During our latest visit, the aisles were so full of pallets and piles of merchandise that we couldn't easily move through the store.

The employees at this Home Depot always go out of their way to be helpful; I couldn't find fault with them if I tried, they're great!

Outstanding customer support. Very knowledgeable. I was provided help finding the right product. Then I was given assistance with how the product could be used. The store was very clean, organized, associates were friendly and helpful. They saved me time and money.

Store has always been my store and I appreciate the friendly help that is at the door when I arrive. When I have a question they are ready to help.

When an item was not available in this store, the manager was nice enough to pick the item up in a store close to their home 30 miles away and brought it to this store so I could conveniently pick it up locally. Greatly appreciated.

The Lawrence Home Depot always has a good selection of reasonably-priced major appliances. I have purchased these here on several occasions and have had good luck with them. It is also my go-to place for its selection of light bulbs.

The associate, Tracy, in the appliance department was very helpful and friendly. We did buy a refrigerator and were happy with the information and help she provided us.

Kathy and Tracy in Kitchen/Appliances were great to work with, knowledgeable, and very helpful. While this isn't a "full sized" Home Depot (meaning they have somewhat more limited products available than other Home Depots) many of the specialty staff really work hard and have great knowledge (they've also sourced things from other stores for me many times).

I like the way the store is laid out - everything is well-marked and I usually need no assistance to locate what I need. If I have questions, I can usually find an employee to help in short order. I much prefer the focus of the store to the "bigger is better" mentality of the Menard's store that was built next door! (I.e., I don't need to wander through groceries to get to the storage supplies!!)

The store has everything you need. By any chance if you don't find the item you can easily place an order to get it picked up in store without any shipping costs. The store associates are one of the best reason I visit this particular Home Depot. They make the entire shopping experience amazing.

I love how everyone is so kind and approachable! I often bite off projects that are a bit much for me to chew, and the staff has a way of talking through my projects and answering questions for me that i didn't even know i had! Now when friends and family ask about the cool things I've made, i can tell them and sound like a subject matter expert thanks to my orange apron professors!

This is a good store with usually plenty of items in stock. Some times a little slow in the check out, or maybe I just hit an unusual day.

This store is gigantic, tidy, and well stocked. The employees don't harass you with their customer service, but they make enough eye contact to let you know they are there if you have questions. Everything is pretty easy to find. They will cut lumber to size for small projects for a small fee that is occasionally waved based on who you work with or what you need done. If you want to peruse building materials without being hassled this is the store for you. If you want to buy home maintenance or gardening goods without talking to a single person you didn't initiate conversation with, this store is for you. There's even a self checkout. It's fantastic.
