Recycling at Home Depot

Did you know?
This store helps divert waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot sold to Trex last year. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store helped save on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours last year. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn More.

How do I fix drafty windows?
As the years pass, windows settle and may not fit as snugly as they did before. Check if they're drafty by bringing an incense stick to the window. If you can see the smoke swirl around the window, the cold air is getting in through tiny gaps. Fill obvious spaces around windows with caulk. If your windows aren't snug in the frames anymore, use foam tape, weather stripping, or even a window insulation kit with sealing film to keep out cold air. Replace the windows as soon as possible.
What projects can I work on when it's cold outside?
When the temperatures drop outside, it's challenging to work out in the elements. However, a chilly day that's above freezing might be a good time to rake leaves or give the mulch in the garden a stir. An afternoon organizing the shed or garage will pay off when spring comes. You won't have to replace lost power tools with new ones because you can find what you've got. Polish up the tools, clean the rest of the house with cleaning tools, and you'll be ready when the cold moderates and the sun comes out.
How do I prepare for snow and freezing temperatures?
When you live in a region where snow is possible, it's a good idea to upgrade or organize your snow removal equipment before a storm hits. Have a gas can ready to top off your gas snowblower if it's not already filled for the season, or check the battery on your electric snowblower. Remember to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep ice melt or salt and a salt spreader. Ensure your outdoor spigots are drained and covered, too, with all garden hoses disconnected. This basic prep keeps you ready for whatever winter weather comes your way.
When are Kids Workshops offered at my local Home Depot?
Kids Workshops are offered on the first Saturday of each month from 9am–noon. Secure your spot by registering online for our workshops.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular present for any occasion or during the holiday season. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. Purchase gift cards at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you receive a gift card, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Our gift cards can be used to make purchases online or redeemed in-store with no additional fees.

          Terrible curbside pickup
Checked in at curbside. Waited 15 minutes. Called store and was told customer service had to wait on every one in line before delivering to my car. I had to go in to pick up order. I understand stand stores are short staffed but then don’t offer curbside pick up
