Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.
Welcome to the Southfield Home Depot. No matter the size of the job, we're here to help you with your next home improvement project.
We pride ourselves on our ability to help you finish your project, everyday. From Hampton Bay patio sets to electrical tools our team will take care of you. You can also check out our Home Depot product locator app, which displays a store map, the aisle location and the current inventory available for the items you're looking for.
Supporting the community is important to us at The Home Depot. In an effort to fill the trades gap, The Home Depot Foundation has pledged to train 20,000 military veterans to fill the industry pipeline by 2028. In-store, we cover a wide variety of topics in our DIY workshops, where the focus is hands-on learning and providing you with expert advice to complete your project.
We're here to help, no project is too big or too small. Stop by today.

Which real Christmas tree should I pick?
Look for uniformly green trees that appear healthy. A good quality real Christmas tree shouldn't lose all of its needles when you shake it, and the needles shouldn't look patchy, dry, or brown. Also, be sure to check that your tree is free of insects and disease, so examine any holes or knots in the wood carefully. We're your source for finding the best real Christmas tree for your home.
Where can I buy tailgating accessories?
The Home Depot carries tailgating accessories so you can find what you need before the big game. Whether you're tailgating in the parking lot or at home, remember to bring plenty of food and tailgating games. Check out our tailgating coolers, too. Shop on our mobile app or drop by to see some tailgating gear at the store.
Does my local Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?
Kids Workshops are free in-store events that take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am–noon. Registration for kids workshops is now available online and secures your spot at the event. Keep little doers engaged with a new kit pack for each event. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Customers who prefer not to participate in the in-person event can pick up their free kit in-store or order online at our Kids Projects Activities page to have it shipped to their home. Call us or visit our customer service counter to check the availability of the kits.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are a popular present for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know these gift cards are fun to give and to receive. They can be purchased online at homedepot.com or in our stores. If you receive a gift card, you can check your gift card balance online or visit the Southfield Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Redeem our gift cards in-store or use them to shop online with no additional fees.
