When it's time to make the leap into a new DIY project, you might not have everything you need in the shed or garage. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Mcdonough Rental Center for tools, trucks, and large equipment.
Tool Rental
Start your next home improvement project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Mcdonough Tool Rental Center fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the tools you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and bring them back when you're done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to keep up with your yard. Fall will be here before you know it, so have a leaf blower ready. It's much easier than raking them into piles. It's also easy to use on concrete sidewalks, hardscaping surfaces, and driveways. Clear your yard by using handheld, backpack, or walk-behind leaf blowers.
Insulation
To make your home more energy efficient, upgrade your insulation. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated with ease. Installing insulation helps keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.
Heaters
If you can't stand working or being outside in the cold, check out our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They are safer than torch patio heaters because they have no open flame, and they also blow the hot air for more coverage. We offer propane, electric, and gas heaters in various sizes. Couple this with good outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the evening with the extra warmth.
Truck Rental
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep pickup trucks as well as Penske moving trucks ready for rental, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for packing, storage needs, and DIY projects, it's easy to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.
Box Truck Rentals
If you need a 12-foot box truck for a small move, we've got just what you need. Our rental box trucks are a terrific solution for cross-town moves. Use it for transporting extra belongings to a storage space as well. Get your truck, pack it full, then return it to that same store when you're finished.
Penske Moving Trucks
You're confident doing your DIY projects with The Home Depot. Do the same when you need to relocate to a new space. We carry Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings, from everything in a college dorm or small apartment to the contents of a 5-bedroom home.
How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to ask about a tool, large equipment, or truck. You can also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to review the contract and the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
When can I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. You'll likely not get a sharp blade when you rent, as most people won't leave one on there when they return it. However, you may luck out and have a sharpened blade on the saw. Since there's no guarantee, it's better to purchase a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We do not accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Some tools and large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I receive my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours' notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment, and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to one of our knowledgeable associates for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?
Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and that you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
