When it's time to make the leap into a new DIY project, you might not have everything you need in the garage or shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Midland Rental Center for tools, trucks, and large equipment.
Tool Rental
Start your next home improvement project with confidence and the best tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Midland Tool Rental Center fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the tools you don't have at home. Rent the tools you need and bring them back when the job is done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available for purchase. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to keep up with your yard. Fall will be here in no time, so have a leaf blower at the ready. It's far less work than raking them into piles. It's also easier on driveways, hardscaping surfaces, and concrete sidewalks. You can rent one of our handheld, backpack, or walk-behind leaf blowers.
Generators
Whether you're running a large welding machine or working in a remote location, you'll likely need to rent a generator. Generators also keep basic electrical appliances running if there's a power outage. Make life easier during fieldwork or after extreme weather knocks out power to your home.
Heaters
There's nothing better than a comfortable room, so be sure to check out our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep barns, workspaces, or outdoor events warm. They're safer than torch patio heaters because they don't have an open flame, and they also blow hot air for greater coverage. We offer propane, gas, and electric heaters in a range of sizes. Pair this with some nice outdoor lighting, and you can extend work or play well into the evening hours.
Truck Rental
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep pickup trucks as well as Penske moving trucks on hand, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for packing, DIY projects, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we have in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent tools, trucks, or large equipment?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to know what's in stock, call first to ask about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You could also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, check out the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.
How long can I rent tools?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a short rental period, and bigger jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you purchase your own. You'll likely not get a sharp blade when you rent, as most people won't leave one on there when they return it. However, you may luck out and receive an excellent blade on the saw. As there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment and select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I receive my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours' notice so we can adequately prep your rented equipment, and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to one of our Orange Aprons for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and that you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
