The Home Depot Rental Center at Newark, CA

When it's time to make the leap into a new DIY project, you might not have everything you need in the shed or garage. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Newark Rental Center for tools, trucks, and large equipment.

Tool Rental
Start your DIY project with the right tools for the job. Let our Tool Rental Center in Newark, CA expand your tool belt with the items you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and return them when the job is complete. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted in comparison to the new items in our aisles.

Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to keep up with your yard. Fall will be in full swing soon, so have a leaf blower ready to go. It's much easier than raking. It's also easier on concrete sidewalks, driveways, and hardscaping surfaces. Choose from handheld, backpack, or walk-behind leaf blowers.

Insulation
If you need to prep your home for cooler weather, consider upgrading your insulation. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated with ease. Installing insulation helps keep your home nice and cool in the summer and warm and cozy in the winter, all while tempering your energy bills.

Heaters
If you don't enjoy working or being outside in cooler temps, browse our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They are safer than torch patio heaters because portable heaters have no open flame, and they also blow the hot air for more coverage. We offer gas, electric, and propane heaters in various sizes. Couple this with nice outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the evening with the extra warmth.

Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep trucks of all kinds and cargo vans on hand. Although availability varies by store, we offer a selection ranging from pickups to flatbed trucks to cargo vans. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your timeline on track. As your source for DIY projects, storage needs, and packing, it's easy to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we have in stock.

Although we're mentioning popular tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you have a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent tools, trucks, or large equipment?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You could also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, check out these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.

Can I rent a truck for a week?

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before choosing your truck.

When do I return the tools?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

Do saw rentals come with saw blades?

Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you purchase your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you might get lucky and have a sharpened one. Since there's no guarantee, it's better to purchase a suitable blade, just in case you need it.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment and select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I receive my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to the job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours' notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment, and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't an option, speak to one of our Orange Aprons for the best way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?

Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and that you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
