How do I stop cold air from coming in at the bottom of the door?
If you have cold air seeping in under the door, check your door sweep, the rubber piece on the door bottom, for cracks and missing pieces. Replace it if it's torn or otherwise damaged. When a house settles unevenly, pieces that once fit snugly can go off-kilter. Gaps can form around the sides of doors or the thresholds may loosen with time. Fill the space with weather stripping or foam tape, and caulk any cracks in the wooden door frame. If you're still feeling drafts around the door, place an insulated fabric door snake along the ground.

What projects can I work on when the weather's cold?
When the temperatures drop outside, it's challenging to work outdoors. However, a chilly day may be a good time to rake leaves or give the mulch in the garden a stir. A few days organizing and cleaning the shed or garage will pay off when the weather warms. You won't have to replace lost hand tools with new ones because you can find what you've got. Polish up the tools, clean the rest of the house with cleaning supplies, and you'll be ready when it's planting time.

How do I prepare for freezing temperatures and snow?
When you live in an area where snow may occur, it's smart to organize or upgrade your snow removal tool kit before a big storm hits. Check that the snow blower is working and accessible, then oil up the snow shovels. Don't forget to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep ice melt or salt and a salt spreader. Make sure your outdoor faucets are drained and covered, too, with all hoses disconnected. Doing this basic prep will help keep you ready for whatever winter weather comes your way.

Does my local Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?
Kids Workshops are free in-store events that take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am–noon. Registration for kids workshops is now available online and secures your spot at the event. Keep little doers engaged with a new kit pack for each event. Included in the kits are all necessary craft materials, as well as instructions, stickers, an apron pin, a certificate of achievement, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Call us or visit our customer service counter to order your kit.

How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular choice for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. You can purchase them at our stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit the Rutland Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store. There are no additional fees to worry about.

Have product on floor available to sell! Instead of just display.
I called this store many times and could not speak to anyone regarding my needs for a dryer. I was put on hold each time and not a single person answered, it just rang and rang. I drove 30 minutes to the store and the service desk girls said there was just two of them there and couldn't be answering the phones as they were waiting on people. I had to purchase my dryer that was on the floor and wait a week for it to be delivered. When someone wants a dryer, they cant wait a week. We have a large family and needed it yesterday. BUT, we had to wait.

    Go to store
I highly recommend going to a Home Depot rather then shopping online. The associates are informative and very friendly. I appreciate their patience as I am a new home owner and do not know very much about home improvement. Hoping to do more shopping and more renovating with Home Depot.

Can't believe website amounts of items at your local store!
Stated quantities of items at my local store are often very wrong, all too often online states my local store has several of the items I'm looking for 'IN STOCK', only an immediate trip to THAT store has NONE!
