How can I fix drafty windows?

As the years pass, windows settle and may not fit as snugly as they did before. Check if they're drafty by bringing a steaming cup of coffee or tea to the window. If you can see the steam swirl around the window, the cold air is getting in through tiny gaps. Fill obvious spaces around windows with caulk.
