How do I fix drafty doors?

If you have cold air seeping in under the door, check your door sweep, the rubber piece on the door bottom, for cracks and missing pieces. Replace it if it's torn or otherwise damaged. When a house settles unevenly, pieces that once fit snugly can go off-kilter. Gaps can form around the sides of doors or the thresholds may loosen with time. Fill the space with weather stripping or foam tape, and caulk any cracks in the wooden door frame. If you're still feeling drafts around the door, place an insulated fabric door snake along the ground.

However, cleaning up the yard before spring gives the earth time to settle and reset before plants start growing again. An afternoon cleaning and organizing the shed, garage, or basement will pay off when spring comes. You won't have to replace lost power tools because you can find what you've got. Polish up the tools, clean the rest of the house with cleaning tools, and you'll be ready when the weather warms.

How can chainsaws help with tree and yard cleanup?

If you didn't gather up leaves, branches, or yard debris in the fall, take care of it when the weather warms. Use chainsaws to remove broken or dead branches from trees. Trimming damaged wood keeps your trees healthier. Oil up your Makita chainsaw before using it, and swap out any dull or rusted chains. Please leave large tree removal to the pros unless you're a trained arborist. Trees already on the ground can be cut up and hauled away.

Are Kids Workshops offered at the West Woodlands Home Depot?

Kids Workshops are free in-store events that take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. You may secure your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. Keep little doers engaged with a new kit pack for each event. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. POOR PRODUCT SUPPORT WHEN PURCHASING

BOUGHT CUB CADET, FOUND USED BATTERY IN IT, I HAD TO ASSEMBLE NEW AT HD. BLADE HOUSING BENT, BLADES HITTING AFTER I GOT HOME. 4 1/2 HOURS LATER I HAD RETURNED AND THEN SENT TO ANOTHER HD STORE. THIS STORE HAD NO OTHER TRACTORS THAT COULD START TO REPLACE THE ONE I BOUGHT. POOR ASSEMBLY AND LACK OF PERSONNEL. ALMOST A WHOLE SUNDAY WASTED AND MANY MILES.
