Can I fix drafty windows?

If your drafty windows need replacing but you need to make it through the winter first, seal them up tight for best results. Caulk the gaps well, then seal the window using a window insulation kit with plastic film and a hair dryer. Add fabric insulation snakes along the bottom for extra warmth. Finally, trap and warm the air around the windows with blackout curtains or heavy drapes. Replace the windows as soon as possible.

What are good wintertime DIY projects?

When the temperatures drop outside, it's challenging to work out in the elements. However, a chilly day that's above freezing may be a good time to rake leaves or give the mulch in the garden a stir. Some time cleaning the basement or garage will pay off when spring comes. You won't have to replace lost power tools because you can find what you've got. Polish up the tools, clean the rest of the house with cleaning tools, and you'll be ready when it's planting time.

How do I prepare for freezing temperatures and snow?

When you live in a location where snow may occur, it's smart to upgrade or organize your snow removal equipment before a big storm hits. Have a gas can ready to top off your gas snowblower if it's not already filled for the season, or check the battery on your electric snowblower. Don't forget to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep salt or ice melt and a salt spreader. Make sure your outdoor faucets are drained and covered, too, with all garden hoses disconnected. Yes, the Winder store offers in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am–noon. You may reserve your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. We have a new kit pack every month to keep your little doer engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Great customer service

Shirley took the time to walk me through obtaining my military discount at the self checkout, although it was busy on Sunday morning. She was pleasant and thanked me for my service. She provided a personable customer service experience that I won't forget and she's the sole reason I'll continue to return as a repeat customer.

Best Staff

I came in and was greeted promptly by the staff and when I had trouble finding the part I came in for Raul helped me navigate the store where we found it no problem!

Great customer service!

I had a hard time finding my way around and an associate, Raul, helped me! What would have taken me 30 minutes to do, he did in 5!

I bought the 6 Ryobi kit that was suppose to have a free tool that goes with it but was not shown in store but was online. And the light skinned older lady help made it possible for me to get that.
