Questions & Answers
Why does the square rug listed as 8’x8’ and specifications say 96”x 96” when actual measurements are 92”x 92” so the 8’x pad is larger than the rug???
The measurement of this rug is 96X96. The rug pad and the rug should be the same measurement.
In the rug a true 6x9?
Hello Laura, thank you for your inquiry. Rug sizes are approximate so it is possible that this may vary in a few inches as this rug is processed by being power loomed. Please view our size variance information here "What causes slight variations in rug sizes, colors or designs"?https://safavieh.com/faq#tab-2
Can I vacuum this rug using a vacuum that has a rotating brush?
Hello! We do not recommend the use of a vacuum that has a rotating brush on our rugs. You may want to look for these features in your vacuum: 1) Canister Vacuum 2) Comes with an attachment such as a bristle brush 3) Has a high pile setting (adjustable height for high piles) 4) Has large wheels (to glide easily across carpet) 5) Able to turn on/off the beater bars (to prevent damage to the surface) 6) *Does not have a rotating brush* 7) Avoid vacuums with a very contracted suction (for efficient airflow) Thank you for your question!
Does it have a non-slip backing?
Hi Tammy. No, this rug does not have a non-slip backing. We would recommend using a rug pad underneath to keep it from shifting and sliding. Thank you for your inquiry.
is this rug low VOC and does it have a chemical smell?
Hello - Thank you for your question. Our rugs are not treated with any insect repellents, stain repellents, or flame retardant chemicals. Our rugs do not contain any toxics, VOC or PDBE emitting properties. All Safavieh rugs are certified as “Confidence in Textiles” certifying that the products have been successfully tested for harmful substances according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100. Rugs may have the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 label already included on the back. Please understand that all chemicals being used are safe as per the REACH Norms or EU Standards. If you would like to know more information on Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex, please view link here - https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/our-standards/standard-100-by-oeko-tex In regards to any odors, generally new rugs do emit an odor. This should be only a new rug smell similar to other new products. Airing out a rug in a well ventilated area helps air out the odor. For more information please email our team - https://safavieh.com/contact
does this rug have Oeko-Tex rating and is it low voc and no chemical smell?
Hi Ann. Yes, we have tested and passed the Oeko-Tex standards for harmful substances to ensure that it is harmless to pets. We do not use any harmful chemicals to treat this rug and the only odor that might emanate from the rug is due to it being packaged and the duration it stays packaged. Thank you for your inquiry.
Is this rug 3 ft by 4 ft or is it 2 ft 6 inches by 4 ft?
It is 30 inches by 48 inches so 2 ft 6 inches by 4 ft.
Hi Martin. The correct size is 2'6" X 4' or 30 inches by 48 inches. Home Depot uses the approximate rug size in the product names for search purposes. However, you can find the correct size under the size options or in the specifications. Thank you for your inquiry.
Can this be special ordered in a 2' 4" width?
No, the runner cannot be special ordered to size.
Hi Montie, unfortunately we currently do not have this rug with a 2'4" width. Thanks for choosing The Home Depot.
