RIDGID introduces the 18V SubCompact Brushless 4-Mode 3/8 in. Impact Wrench. The RIDGID SubCompact Brushless lineup pairs powerful brushless motor technology in a compact tool design. This 3/8 in. Impact Wrench is the industry’s most compact, delivering 250 ft./lbs. of breakaway torque. Built with 3 speeds and an auto tightening mode, users can adjust speed and power for added control. This brushless impact wrench utilizes auto-tightening mode to automatically stop when fastening bolts to prevent over tightening. Both the 3/8" and 1/2" have the same spec for maximum tightening torque, 3,000-inch lbs. (250 Ft Lbs.)

Recently purchased one of these and noticed when in auto mode, reverse direction that the tool only runs in the 0-850 speed range with no load. Book says auto mode is 0-2800 range. Will the tool auto ramp up to higher speed under load or is it DOA?
Hi Pollux, exact same question with a unit I just purchased. Rigid Canada is telling me that this is normal. In Auto reverse it spins at a much lower speed but ramps up to full speed under load. Did you get a new unit showing the same behaviour?
