Q:How does this compare with Coax Seal? I want to get that product or something locally available that's just as good before the rain comes on Oct.11.

A:  I've never used Coax Seal, but it looks similar in performance to the Temflex tape, although they are applied very differently. I don't care for Coax Seal's vague claims about temperature (any temperature?) and prefer 3M's use of an actual range (32-176F) as it gives me a better idea of where and when to use it.

A:  If you want to use it out side in the weather, I would use the Coax Seal. The 3M electrical tape is very good. But not for wet conditions. THE COAX SEAL, SEALS CONNECTORS FROM MOISTURE AND CORROSION: Great for wireless, radio, satellite and HAM antennas

        Very high quality electrical tape.
The Temflex electrical tape is very good quality, i went with this tape because i needed it to attach a heating cable to a water pipe (also used it on the foil-backed insulation). I wanted the best quality to get the best results -its resistant to abrasion is flame resistant & wet rated. Wont have any regrets using this tape.

This electrical tape is of good quality. The adhesive of the tape is very sticky and has no problem sticking to itself and to the outlets I used the tape on. The colors are bright and it is very useful for taping wire nuts and other connectors. I would recommend this tape for any electrical project or other use where good adhesive and stretchable tape is needed.

You can get cheaper electrical tape but the tape products that 3M puts out are high quality and what I use when an application has to work for a long time. I used this product today to repair a speaker crossover in lieu of a solder joint inside a speaker - someplace where the "stick" has to stay "stuck" for many years to come, where I don't want it coming loose and having to go in to fix it again. (Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of that). They key features in a quality electric tape for me are 1) how well it sticks, 2) how well it insulates, and 3) how long it sticks. The first one you can judge immediately - this tape is quite sticky coming off the roll, and is easy to apply. The second one similarly is quite evident - this tape is substantial (not tissue paper) and when an electrical connection is covered, you can be sure there is sufficient insulation that a spark will not jump through it. For #3, you only know over time. I have been using the 3M electric tape products for several years and have never had the tape come unstuck - even after 5, 10 and more years. I am willing to spend the bit more it costs for 3M electric tapes as the value of getting things stuck together once with assured insulation is greater to me than the pennies I would save with going with a cheaper alternative.

Anything made by 3M has always makes a big impression on me. Tape is flexible and very easy to work with, especially on unusual situations. I've used for things like bundling router wires, as well as computer data and printer cables. It's also a go-to when I notice a crimp, split or nick in a power cord. I've even used it to insulate friction points of some of my lawn care equipment. Good all around product.

3M is a reputable name and my go-to for their quality products. This tape has good adhesion, strength, flexibility, and malleability. This tape was perfect for wrapping the wire nuts when I installed my new ceiling fan. Even though you can tear off a piece by hand, it's a lot easier to cut it to give your repair a finished look. I recommend this brand.

I picked this tape for the name! I have found 3M can always be trusted when it comes to tape and adhesives. I have not found a rival and if I am going to tape up electrical wires and put them in my wall or outside in the elements, I want to know they are going to last. I picked up the gray and black tape and was not disappointed. I repaired my computer cables that were fraying was happy with how the tape handled and stuck.

3M Temflex Electrical Tape is excellent. I always felt electrical tape was all the same. The 3M Temflex is a lot better than the no name $1 a roll tape. I taped a crack in my extension cord and it still looks like the day I taped it, crack has not spread. The tape does not get all sticky & messy when working with it like other brands. Very easy to work with not stiff at all. I highly recommend this tape. Come to find out my neighbor the electrician loves this tape also.

You never know when you will need some electrical tape. In the past when I used other brands it would eventually unwind or become loose on the wires. The 3M Temflex tape stretches for a tight bond of what you use it on. It can withstand heat and cold so it can be used in many places. Up to 176 degrees F and 32 degrees F. Easy to use. I was able to rip off a section that I needed with scissors but it is tough and strong and creates a strong bond.

I utilized the 3M 1700 Temflex black vinyl electrical tape (0C-80C temperature flexible) to cover non-insulated terminal ends which where part of vintage Honda wiring harnesses. The temperature in my garage was close to 90 degrees. The tape remained very flexible and did not become sticky when handled. I've used other brands that could not be used when the temperature was above 80 degrees without them becoming sticky and very hard to handle. Hopefully will get to try the product in low temperature conditions this winter.

This stuff is great and has many uses-taping an alligators mouth shut, taping around connectors and wires, holding your tree apart from a support post, but my favorite would be holding an alligators mouth shut just like North Woods Law, or Lone Star Law. Just think how handy this could be-Tape an alligators mouth closed any time you see one! Could be a very handy item to keep in your bug-out bag too!
