This is a high volume filter for installation in or before polyethylene and concrete tanks. It has a two step cleaning system producing a high level of filtering efficiency, independent of flow rate. Due to the steep inclination of the filter cartridge the dirt is continuously cleaned away into the sewer. The VF1 Combi has the cleaned water outlet at the bottom of the filter.
Low maintenance, due to the self cleaning design
Food grade high quality polyethylene construction
Accepts high volume of water flow
Removes finer dirt particles during the two step process for cleaner water

Answer This Question
A:Â It has 4'' pipe connections.

A:Â The supposed 4" outlets are not actually 4" as stated and makes installation very tricky. I have found flexible couplings such as those sold by Plumbquik... Fernco to make up for in inaccuracy of the outlets. Just because it says 4" don't believe it until you have it in hand and then try to adapt to what you get.

4" connections.....not on your life!
This looks like a terrific product but the installation instructions are woefully inadequate and useless and I have to assume that the fittings are metric (???) (its a German product) as nothing in PVS (4") or ABS (4") or galvanized downspouts, come close to fitting, inside or outside dimensions. The inlets and outlets are also different dimensions and none are 4" as advertised.
Until I hear from Home Depot or the manufacturer I'll give this one star or maybe not even that. I will continue struggling with making it work with rubber compression fittings, but thus far and three trips to HD and local hardware stores I have not found a solution as to how to connect it a 5" downspout. I will update this product and rating when I have got it figured out and it is working.
The shipping, by HD, has also been a fiasco and would recommend picking up products at the store. Mine ended up being halfway across the nation, delaying my present frustrations.
