Can you attach a garden hose to the black hose that comes with it?

Answer

Hi Kate, Yes, that should work! Thanks, Allegra@TeamAlgreen

can you go directly into the barrel from the down spout?

Asked by rr May 1, 2020

Answer

Hi RR, It may go directly into the rain barrel, however, you may need an elbow attachment that angles the water from the downspout into the opening at the top of the barrel. Otherwise, you can use a diverter kit and the water would go from the downspout to the overflow at the back of the barrel. Thank you, Alby@Team Algreen

Very cool product!
This rain barrel is amazing! It holds SO much water and actually looks decent. I have no gutter system at all so I placed it in a corner where we have a heavy rain run off. I cut the bottom of the planter area out and now there is a larger opening. I have more water collected than I know what to do with! I think this is a great buy.

Gorgeous Rain Barrel
This is a fabulous rain barrel - it looks like a beautiful clay pot, holds 65 gallons, and has both a hose and a tap. I especially love the hose- use it for direct watering and for filling up my watering can. I’m buying another one or two!!

It took months to arrive and I am not happy with the quality. I will be returning it this afternoon.

Excellent Product
Easy to install and works great. Only change I would make is have input to Barrel over the plastic screen when you use the diverter option.

Great Rain Barrel

Oh well
I wrote a 5-paragraph raving review on this barrel last week. Unfortunately, my entire review summary was obliterated when I was disconnected to Home Depot's review webpage right before hitting the submit button. Oh well. The barrel is great. I would have given five stars and purchased two of them if the price was better. Shipping box was crushed on two corners, but the barrel was not harmed. The quality of the design, thick walls and outlet features are great. Easy to assemble and install. Filled up and overflowed in 4 minutes with the first heavy rain just 10 minutes after installing it. I highly recommend the Cascata 65 GAL. Rain Barrel in Terracotta. Will add photos later, if possible.

Overpriced VERY poor quality
The barrel came scratched up and dirty like it was already a return. It was three pieces of plastic molded together very poorly, so the molded areas were very obvious, it looked like someone used their finger to put the pieces together then left chunks of plastic sticking out of all the seams and some of the seams weren't sealed so it would have leaked immediately. Accessories were very flimsy. I ordered on line and thank goodness opted to pick it up at the store – because I returned it before walking out the door. A $19.95 product with a $209-dollar price tag.
