I submitted a review for this product on 2 February which evidently was not received or recorded. I absolutely love these valves for several reasons! They are very simple to install with the crimping tool, you can immediately determine the proper distance from the wall. Also there is no worry about getting them straight since they swivel in the pipe. In addition, the 1/4 turn valve makes turning on and shutting the water offer easy and almost effortless. Older style valves required several turns and may still leak some if they were old. This is one of the best innovations in plumbing to date!

Nominal Crimp PEX Barb Inlet x 3/8 in. O.D. Compression Outlet Angle Valve A quick way to install a cutoff valve on a PEX line. It can be used with a braided supply line and it comes with two different collets so that it can be used with copper or plastic. See photo. Like most Crimp on connectors, it only takes a few seconds and you have a tight seal. I like the 1/4 turn operation and it is supposed to not freeze-ups over time. Chrome plated for looks and is supposed to make it corrosion resistance. These fittings made by BrassCraft are PEX crimp fittings. They require no soldering, but do require special crimp tools to install. This particular fitting is a ½” PEX crimp by 3/8” compression. They are 90 degree ¼ turn valves. This fitting is the standard for using on toilet and under sink connections. They are an excellent choice to use when the supply line exits through the wall. The compression fitting comes with a brass ferrule installed, but also includes a plastic ferrule for use on plastic lines. The PEX system for plumbing is very easy to use and install, as long as you have the required tools used for making the crimps. I find these fittings from BrassCraft are quality valves made right here in the U.S.A.

Have used Brass Craft for my toilet and under the sink valves for many years. As we adapt our 50+ years home to "age in place- we are remodeling our bath rooms- higher toilets, lower threshold showers, new vanities, more grab bars. At the same I time I am replacing all the supply line cut off valves and old copper lines. The old valves had served their purpose and I am gradually replacing them. They were the older globe vales and I now prefer the 1/4 turn ball valves. Also the past I have used the Shark-Bite 1/4 turn ball valves and have had no problems but the valves will turn on the pipe. On my new PEX piping I prefer the barb PEX inlet - they take a minute or two to longer to install- but do not turn on the pipe- and are a few dollars less than the Shark Bite inlet. I am sure these will last 50 years as the did the 50 year old ones.

The Brasscraft 1/4 turn angle valve is a shutoff valve used to control water flow for installations such as toilets and faucets where the piping comes from the wall horizontally. This shutoff valve is used with pex pipe. Water shutoff requires only a quick 1/4 turn, I recommend replacing old shutoffs which require several turns with 1/4 turn shutoffs. Be sure to select the turnoff to suit the type and direction of piping.

A very nice compact little valve for your under sink water lines. Quarter turn actions like these are much better for these typical valve locations under sinks or other enclosed spaces. The valves have a good quality finish and the box includes a plastic ferrule as well as the normal brass ferrule. They operate smoothly and easily and have positive stops. I especially like that you can run your 1/2" PEX right up to the valve and then go directly to the 3/8" faucet line.

A few years ago, I transitioned over to PEX ... and have not looked back. I now mostly use push-to-connect fittings, but I had a few of the old copper clamp rings left over. Being someone who throws nothing away, I figured I would get these to use them up. If you have the clamp and fittings, these are much cheaper. I like that these are a simple 1/4 turn. No more turning and turning, and wondering if it is totally open (going to far and making it drip) or wondering if it is totally shutoff (over tightening and cutting the gasket). I am not a fan of trying to fit the clamp into tight spaces. The body is chrome over brass, but the knob is chromed plastic.

i ordered these 90 degree angle valves to use with 1/2 inch pex water lines where a cut off valve is needed for a faucet or toilet. the valves are made of brass and are 1/4 turn shut off which i prefer to use because they seem to last longer and are less likely to leak when turned on and off multiple times. they are very easy to install using pex pinch clamp crimp fittings as long as you have access to a pex crimping tool, just slide a clamp over the pex line, insert the barb end of the valve into the pex line, slide the clamp over the covered barb and crimp using the tool. attach your water line to the compression outlet and your finished. i think these valves are a great choice to use with pex water lines and i am completely satisfied with this product.

Modern upgrade for installation ease and long life. PEX is the future of plumbing being proven for decades as much faster, easier, more flexible in service. Quarter turn valves and easier to use but more importantly they outlive multi-turn gate type valves when it come to service life. You need a crimping tool for the clamping band, and a band and thats pretty much it for installation.

These Brasscraft 1/4 Turn Straight value are a must have in any plumbing bag. So easy to use and install it almost makes it fun. All you need is the value the pipe the Pex tool and a clamp ring. Just cut the Pex to the right length and insert the value and crimp on the ring. I like the angle value for under sinks cause if you do not have the head room you can go in a right angle and then up to the faucet.
