A: Yes. Normally the hose end is some soft material which will also clamp to this adapter, but the softer your hose-end the less well this adapter will work. If your dishwasher hose is hard like a straight piece of plastic as on the end of some corrugated hoses, this will work very well. Otherwise consider a piece of PCV to join the two pieces: say your disposer inlet is 3/4", your dishwasher hose is 1/2" with a soft end; so cut the last step off the adapter, slide a short section of 1/2" PVC into the adapter and into the dishwasher hose and clamp. On the 3/4" end the disposer has a hard PVC pipe to clamp the adapter's 3/4" end to. I know all this since mine came apart twice in about 2 years until I shored it up with PCV.

A: It is not disclosed on the package. I boiled mine to get it to stretch onto the mount. It softened just enough to get it where I wanted it. Latex (pure rubber) melts at about 350 F. Silicone, which is in almost all rubber things to make them harder and less stretchy, melts above 500 F, so your dishwasher cannot melt this thing unless you press it against the heating element.
A: Not sure on the maximum temperature. But its meant to have around 200 degrees water flowing through it. What application were you wanting it for?
