Garage Door Opener Battery Replacement

A:  The only tools needed to replace the garage door backup battery are a step ladder and a Phillips head screwdriver. It is very easy to do. Unplug or disconnect the power to the garage door motor before starting to replace the battery. YouTube has several DIY videos that illustrate how to replace the battery.

A:  Older models a Phillips screwdriver and a Ladder. Newer models just a ladder.

A:  I can't be positive but I believe it was Chamberlain. Regardless, it's worked flawlessly for the last 16 months.

A:  It is a battery manufactured in China with a Chamberlain sticker on it. Both the battery itself and the box it arrived in did not even have the Chamberlain part number on it.

A:  The label on the battery is Chamberlain's label and carries the 132B2511-3B at the bottom of the Chamberlain label. All that said, below that label and printed on the plastic hardcase of the battery it indicates Leoch Battery Co. Ltd DJW12-4.5 12v 4.5AH and in Made in China just like just about everything else in the US. In my situation, I installed the batter Q4 2020 and the battery still works fine

A:  All info shows Chamberlain or The Chamberlain Team. I assume Chamberlain is the manufacturer.

A:  This would be a Chamberlain backup battery.

A:  The model of the battery does depend on the model of the opener, however, it would be a 12V battery.

A:  Don W - You said you know of only 1 replacement. What/which brand battery is it? My original Chamberlain battery has an F2 size positive connector and an F1 size negative connection. Most replacement batteries I run across only have F2 for both terminals.

A:  I know of only one replacement battery available for Chamberlain openers.
