PVC PR-160, PR-200 and PR- 315 are part of the TrueFit system and are for pressure systems where temperatures will not exceed 140°F. They are highly resilient, with high-tensile and high-impact strength. All are inert to attack by many chemicals and can withstand high pressure for long periods. PVC PR-160, PR-200 and PR-315 are all SDR (standard dimension ratio) pipe materials. The maximum pressure rating SDR pipe remains the same at different diameters.

Conforms to standards: ASTM D 1784, ASTM D 2241 and NSF 14 and 61
Maximum working pressure is 200 psi at 23° C or 73° F
Intended for pressure use
Maximum working temperature of 140° F

A: As long as the location is safe against physical damage, PVC can be used. However, at least schedule 40 and better, schedule 80 should be used. This one is neither.

Q:Is Home Depot intentionally withholding the SCHEDULE information on this exact product? Why does it not CLEARY state what schedule this product is? So for crying out loud I'll ask the question NO ONE has been compelled to ask: What is the SCHEDULE rating?

A: the reason you don't see a schedule rating is because there is none. this pipe is SDR. PVC PR-160, PR-200 and PR-315 are all SDR (standard dimension ratio) pipe materials. A: Technically, it is Schedule 5 PVC Pipe. This is according to Engineering information on Pipe Schedules. It is only .065" wall thickness. Schedule 40 would be .133" wall thickness.

A: PVC SCH 40 pressure systems manufactured by Charlotte meet the requirements of NSF61 for drinking water. However, PVC is not allowed by model plumbing codes for hot and cold-water distribution inside of a building.
