Q:can these be used for a tv mount (75")
by|Nov 18, 2019

Answer This Question

A:  Yes, this can be used for a tv mount (75").

by|Nov 21, 2019

A:  If you are mounting your TV on a 1/2" drywall, there is no problem in using the 3/16" x 3" DrillerToggle. Should the material be different or size of drywall thicker, we recommend you use our FlipToggle 1/4" -20 x 2-1/2".

Q:wy the driller toggle turns in the loose doesnt grab

      Answer This Question

A:  Back the screw out and retry . . . screw by hand (not a drill/driver). Also, if there is insulation in the wall the toggle may get hung up in it.

      by|Jan 1, 2019

A:  The arrow in front has to point down.

        by|May 5, 2023

A:  No clue, poor design is all I can figure, three out of this 6 pack failed upon installation. Two worked. I would avoid.

A:  I thought initially that it wasn't working. However, I realized that is does not grab until the screw is almost all the way in. Then suddenly it tightens.

            by|Apr 2, 2019

A:  The DrillerToggle turns in the loose and does not grab because the screw has not engaged the threads of the anchor's extension. This occurs because the extension doesn't flip at the back of the wall due to obstacles such as; insulation materials and/or wall studs. To avoid this from occurring, the DrillerToggle should be installed at least 2 inches away from the stud; in uninsulated walls.

Q:Can these toggles be used with mrtal studs?

              Answer This Question

A:  I could not get these to work in drywall, there are better alternatives, like a metal screw or bolt.

              by|Oct 16, 2018

A:  Yes the toggles can be used with metal studs: drill a 1/2" hole through the drywall and stud . . . then insert the toggle.

A:  Yes, I watched a YouTube video of a pro installer using this exact bolt to wall hang a tv in metal studs. This was suggested as the best option. Why do people comment on here who have no clue? Use metal screws? LOL.

A:  I don't know what mrtal studs are. I am guessing it metal studs. If you got metal studs, then no. You might as well using metal screws.

A:  I am not familiar with the studs, but these fasteners are intended just for dry wall/sheetrock only. If you have a stud or a beam, then use a different fastener. These are made for when you DON'T HAVE one of those.

A:  For sheet rock only! But they are totally worthless even in sheet rock.

Expensive for a product that works 30% of the time
In theory the design is good and the all metal versions sold by HD but not in stock at our local store work better. We had a 30% success rate and had to run the screw in and out a few times till the ones that worked caught the anchor. The other odd thing is the metal screw that bores through the drywall is at a slight angle and the hole bored is larger than it needs to be. See the picture attached.

                                Does not toggle
Before you install these go ahead and test the toggle mechanism. Put the screw in and start turning it clockwise. In theory it is supposed to grab the toggle and Draught in so that when it's on the other side of the sheetrock it hold it tight. But it doesn't do that. They just keep screwing in and does not move the toggle. You end up with a 3/4 inch gap between the toggle and the anchor head. If you're using any type of standard sheetrock it's not going to be gripping the other side of the wall. And I think this is why a lot of people experience breakage.

These are complete and total garbage. The flaw is in the plastic portion of the anchor in that it snaps off. I used four and three of them snapped off in the wall cavity. I tried to undo the fourth and it wouldn't release. I miss the EZ Anchor metal 100lb toggles, not sure why HD no longer carries them, but consider bringing them back.

I wish I had the reviews on these before I threw away my money. These are horrible. I needed to mount a rail on 5/8" drywall and the screw hole was just short of the next stud by 2" So I see these and they looked like the perfect solution. I tried screwing one in as per the instructions on the back. It started to screw in and just shattered. So I figured I would open up the hole with with a large screwdriver and give the second one a try. Same thing, it just exploded and I was left with pieces. See pic. Fortunately I had a single large toggle bolt at home so did not need to make yet another trip back to hd to finish the installation.

Used exactly has shown. Both anchors broke. It appears that metal piece spun and broke the thin plastic pieces that surround it. Bad design. Both were installed with screwdriver, no power tool. Screws were not even tight when failure occurred. I heard a snap in both cases.

The stupidest design ever for a toggle.
don't buy this unless you enjoy cussing and products that absolutely dont work.

Works brilliantly when you use a screwdriver, not a screw gun!
I used these to hang a TV mount on a steel stud/sheetrock wall. The toggle works by the center screw pushing the toggle vertically and then self threading into it. As with all screws, it is possible to cross thread. Using a screw gun might cause the toggle not move completely to the vertical, bind against the screw head and pop off. Cross threading might also have the same result. These things work great when you first drill a 1/2 inch hole in the sheetrock, press the toggle into place and then hand tighten the screw. I used four for my TV mount and one started to crossthread. I backed the screw out a couple of turns and tried again. The second time the screw properly seated into the toggle. It seems that the negative reviews this product has received were due to ham fisted installation instead of problems with the product.
