I'm a fan of Comfort Zone fans
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had the Comfort Zone 30" 2 Speed High Velocity fan for about 3 weeks now and have had a great experience with it. It is a great, big size and perfect for my husband's shop which gets very hot in the summer months. The fan has 2 speeds but we keep it on the higher one almost all of the time. It creates a great freeze that helps on even the hottest summer days. Installation was fine for my husband who has mounted fans before. He said had no problems getting it up and running. We are very pleased with the fan and are going to get the smaller version for another part of our shop.

Powerful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a powerful and quality made fan. This is a decent sized fan and covers ample space. I have an attachment to my home and it is not insulated. That space is used as a workshop and it gets very hot in there. Especially with the excessive temperatures we have been experiencing in the east. Mounted on top corner of wall and cools the area down.

Perfect on a day like today. 92⁰ at the barn.
It's perfect for a horse stall. My horse loves standing directly in front of it. Nice air flow on lowest setting. For safety love the enclosed motor.

One powerful fan...
I really like the Comfort Zone 18" 3 speed wall mount fan! It does the job. My pole barn gets hot in the summer, being all metal, of course. This fan moves a LOT of air, even on the lowest of the three speeds. The blades are enclosed so no one's fingers could accidently be put in the fan housing. It has a pull chain of adequate length. It rotates a little over 180°, with a lifetime lubricated motor. It isn't too noisy for me, either. My only criticisms are as some have mentioned... when mounting it, they bolts drop inside the cage, making it a little more difficult to put on the wall. Also,, the two mounting screws were to small, in my opinion. I replaced them with larger screws and washers.
The farms workshop is very narrow and deep with no airflow. In the summer its horrible to try to get work done.
I originally set up 8” Utility blower by comfort zone. But I needed more air movement to reach further back into the shop.
Out comes Power Gear by Comfort Zone 18” high velocity wall mounted fan!
I was impressed by how sturdy, well built and heavy it is. This thing will take two people to mount it.
Although it said wall mount, I attached it to a ceiling stud just inside the door. I used three different sized metal washers so I could turn the fan side to side and also adjust the up and down angles using the side knobs.
This fan has three settings. Low for the table saw and closest work station, medium for the center area and high to reach the back of workshop. There is a long chain to switch between settings that I keep running into when I enter the shop. ;).
Noise level is high, but I do wear earplugs when running saws. I would rather have the fan running than swelter in the sauna.
This fan and the smaller 8” definitely makes the shop bearable to work in. I am beginning to like comfort zone fans, a lot.

I was in need of a fan for on the dock by the lake. I wanted something that would easily mount to the metal roof supports, be easy to take down for the winter or long breaks, easy to carry when needed, and with good air movement.
I mounted this just above head height so I can still reach it to adjust it or take it down, but it is out of the way. It is mounted with a basic bolt, two washers, and a wing nut so I can easily take it down when I need to, but it is very secure when it is up. I like that I can easily rotate around the single hole mount so that my tilt angle can be controlled to be side to side, up and down, or at any angle in between.
The fan seems to move enough air under our 3 bay dock that we get better air movement now. I am considering a second one to create a cross wind since it is a large area or possibly and oscillating one, but for the price this is great and does a better job than a simple ceiling mounted fan.

If you’re not picky on looks or construction, this makes a great addition to a garage. I had to partially disassemble the grates because they weren’t assembled correctly to each other, but that wasn’t a big deal. I liked the ability to mount this on the wall. I didn’t use the mounting hardware included because I just used a lag screw into a stud for the center hole and a couple wood screws for each end of the mount. It’s rock solid and doesn’t vibrate at all.
My current fan in my garage workshop is just an old HVAC blower and it doesn’t have the ability to be moved or directed. This new fan fits the bill though. I mounted it with a slight downward angle and can turn it about 135 degrees to any portion of the garage I’m working in.
It really does move the air good though. The sound level isn’t terrible; quieter than my existing blower, but since it is high velocity there is a hummy type of noise that drones on when it’s on the highest speed. The pull chain is the perfect length to keep it out of reach of kids. See my video for the fan in action.

This Comfort Zone 18 inch black high velocity industrial 3 speed wall mounted ceiling fan is a nice fan for garages, shops or porches. This fan is super easy to use and very easy to install right out of the box. Can be mounted to the ceiling as a standard fan or mounted on the wall where you angle and tilt it how you want. I’m in Georgia and a good fan is a must have for your garage. The speeds are fantastic and the pull chain is smooth. The black cage and silver metal blades look fantastic. Definitely recommend.

This ComfortZone 18 inch industrial fan is all metal construction and designed to be wall or ceiling mounted. It includes a pull chain but it is not long enough for tall walls/ceilings. It moves air nicely (rated at 1478 CFM) and is fairly loud at high speed but quiet at low speed. The fan only rotates on a single axis so you are limited in directionality of the air flow.
The package includes a large anchor for concrete that uses the large hole in the center of the bracket and two small screws and anchors for the small holes in the bracket. I assume those are to prevent the bracket from rotating. The problem is those small screws do not meet the requirements of the instructions for grade 5 fasteners. Additionally, the mounting requirements for this 14.6 pound fan are extreme. Per the instructions, for wood you need to secure it to 4 inch by 5 inch wood studs or joists which basically limit you to a header. To attach to cement, it must be 12 inches thick. So in pretty much every application you need to provide your own hardware as what they included does not meet the requirements of the instructions or all surface applications. In my circumstance I ended up lag screwing a 2x4 across drywall into studs behind the drywall. The center hole in the bracket received a 4 inch lag bolt going through the surface 2x4, the drywall and into a 2x4 stud behind it. Then the smaller holes received 1/4 inch screws into the surface 2x4. I added an extension to the pull chain as I mounted the fan high up the wall in the workshop.
During mounting I found it easier to remove the bracket from the fan. Since the carriage bolts used to attach the fan to the bracket can easily slide into the fan cage, I removed the front cover of the fan. This was difficult as the latches were so tight I had to use pliers to disengage them and the tabs started to bend on a couple of them. On the plus side it means these latches will not vibrate loose but on the negative side they will be a pain if you need to remove the front cover for cleaning, etc.

This fan will "blow you away"! What I like: Size of 18" is great for larger spaces, like my workshop in our unconditioned attic space. Metal blades and metal cage are high quality. 1 year warranty. Fuse in the plug end. Three speeds with pull cord operation. Energy efficiency seems good: 80 Watts on Low, 90 Watts on Med, and 120 Watts on High.
The installation instructions are a bit confusing - I've included a picture of this portion of the manual. Who has a 4x5 inch wood stud in their house - not me! Grade 5 fasteners sound a lot more substantial than the two screws and drywall anchors provided in the box. A more substantial expansion bolt is included, presumably for masonry mounting, but I would think you would want to secure the wall mount with two bolts not a single bolt.
That being said, quality is high, nice black paint, and metal blades so overall I still give it a Five Star.
