Great replacement
Great replacement for a Zinsco 20/20 breaker. Ours is so old, probably from 1960 and Connecticut Electric has taken over the manufacture of these Zinsco breakers(Zinsco has gone out of business).
If you think have issues with your breaker and it's not just because you overload it, it may be a good idea to replace these. I noticed after 60 years, the switch becomes looser, there is more corrosion along the metal connectors, and the connector has also gotten loose. Not only that, when I attempt to remove the breaker, the plastic sometimes breaks. These are very expensive($75-90) while new breakers from other brands are $5 each. The Zinsco I removed had a $5.50 price tag on it while my new one is almost $90!
Very easy to replace if you know what you're doing.

Replacement breaker

Generally, I would never install something as poorly designed as these breakers are, but what else can you do? My son's condo was built in the early 70's, and these breakers weren't known to be so freaking horrible and dangerous... Now, I would like to replace the whole panel with something that works well, but I just don't have the time or money to deal with it right now... The reason these breakers are so expensive is because they are dangerous, and when Conneticut Electric bought the right to make copies of these had to pay all the debt that the bankrupt company had acrued because their products burned down so many homes... When you open a panel and see GTE/Sylvania or Zinsco or Challenger, realize these companies are gone because they made horrible products... If you don't already own the property, run far away as fast as you can! If you already own it, deal with it... Make sure your insurance is up to date...
