36 in. White Wall Retractable Accordion Drying Rack

Looks nice and sturdy excited to use

I have owned and used this rack for 3 years. The price-point is low so the quality is average to good but the function is a 5 star. It won't hold heavy weight but for everything else, you'll use it more than you would think. I used to ruin clothes because because I did not have a practical easy way to air-dry anything. The best thing about this is that is large enough to hold lots of items and the way it folds back out of the way is an excellent feature that everyone who has seen it comments about how much they like it. I not only bought it but am now buying it again for my next house. I just couldn't go back to a laundry room again without it and regretted having to leave it behind. Just treat it well and it will last even with the average quality. Don't lay heavy wet coats or blankets on it, just regular clothing, and you won't have a problem. Years later, it still looks and operates the same as the day it was installed. It looks great and isn't an eye-sore like some I have had. It looks like furniture. Love it!

This is an excellent item - if you have a handyman or are very handy yourself. First, for the review of the item itself. It has been wonderful to have this drying rack and we use it every day. The accordion pulls out smoothly and easily. The accordion style quickens the drying process immensely because so much more air can get to the clothes, and I find any room with a dryer gets quite a bit of air circulation. Things are dry in a few hours instead of a few days for me. And since you can arrange the clothes however you want on it, you can have things dry pretty flat without wrinkles (as opposed to hanging them on some random piece of furniture). The wood looks very clean and nice and the construction details make it look much more expensive than it is. The hooks in the picture were dark, but the item we received has chrome hooks. Matches our laundry room better anyway! The hooks are great because there are 2 on each so you can hang a lot, and they are nice and sturdy. Also, there is a shelf on top where you could store laundry items (if you mounted the rack low enough) or put decorations. Second, for installation details: our handyman installed this on our wall. He threw out most of the mounting hardware it came with - he said it would have been very unstable. Instead what he did is get bolts that expanded behind the drywall. He drilled two holes on the top (right under the shelf) for these and inserted them there. Our wall was kind of weird and wouldn't support these anchors for the bottom two holes he drilled, but it was stable enough just having them on the top. He just put decorative screws in the bottom instead. I tried to attach a picture so if you zoom in, you can see where he put these new screws. If you have a normal wall, you could do bolts that expand behind the drywall in all four corners and it would be very stable. It's not necessarily the manufacturer's fault that the product has these stability issues, it's just the nature of something that comes out from the wall to create what essentially is a long lever. If you do not have a good support system in place, it could easily fall from the drywall (if the weight is too far away from the wall and pulls on the backboard), or the whole piece of drywall could fall with it. So, it seems to me it doesn't matter if you pay twice as much for the same item somewhere else, the design of a drying rack like this will come with inherent stability issues. As long as you DON'T put your entire soaking wet load of laundry spread out all along the accordion and especially toward the part furthest from the wall, you should be fine. And the hooks on the bottom will always be very stable because they are against the wall. Good item and I would purchase it again, but buyer beware that you will either need to spend a little more money to have someone install it, or prepare to put in some DIY hours/skill.

My new home needed a place for us to dryer things and this unit does that. If you dry dozens of items a week by hanging them to dry, dont get this. But if you hang a handful at a time, this rack will do. I like that i can hang shirts ready to iron on the hooks. The display shelf is a bonus. In my picture posted with this review Ive included a yellow dish towel for scale.

Love this shelf in my laundry room. Use it for hanging things that I don't want to put in dryer. My husband assembled and mounted it with ease (he is good at that). So far seems sturdy, and I love the look! Fits in well with my vintage decor!
