Garbage or got a bad one
This drill got such good reviews and was a great deal. However I dont know if I got a bad one or if its just this bad. This drill would not drill completly thru a 2x6 nor would it put screws all the way thru thru a 2x4 without the safety clicks everytime no matter what setting it was on. I had to go to my work and bring home the one I use there (milwaukee) to get the job done. I thought with the Dewalt name I wouldnt need to save the reciept and register it so now im SOL. Should have skipped the sale and got a milwaukee.

Battery actually 1.5Ah
I just picked this exact package off the shelf and the batteries are model DCB201 1.5Ah.

Underpowered; slow charger; small batteries
Pros:
-Compact
-Lightweight
Cons:
-Underpowered
-Slow charger (only 1.25 Ah)
-Small batteries (two 1.3 Ah)
-No capacity test buttons on batteries
-Poor value
Review:
It will get the job done, but the motor feels underpowered. Batteries are very small (only 1.3 Ah). Battery charger is slow, too. (only 1.5 Ah rate.) Fortunately, this motor is brushless (longer runtime) and kit includes 2 batteries.
Spend $40 more and get the DCD800P1 instead. (5Ah battery + 2Ah charger & a much better drill.)

Great Drill But Poor Design
Lightweight drill with plenty of power to take care of various jobs around the house. One disappointment is the numbers on the torque adjustment ring rub off easily. Dewalt should have added the numbers into the mold of the part.

It is Hurricane Season once again here in Florida. We are currently right smack on the predicted landfall track line for a storm. I wanted to upgrade to a more powerful, more compact brushless drill driver to help me install the 300 or so 2" Phillips Head Anchor Bolts for my galvanized Storm Shutters. I literally smoked my less powerful Ryobi drill driver using a large hole saw a few weeks ago.
The DeWalt Brushless 20v Max 1/2" Drill Driver is lighter than my old Ryobi and significantly more compact. It is about 2 1/2" or so shorter stem to stern, and feels a lot better on my wrist, especially when doing so many repetitive unfastening/fastenings in awkward positions. The LED worklight illuminated my work so I could see to engage the Phillips fasteners properly even when it got dark.
I'm impressed. It looks, feels and functions like a proper professional tool. 5 stars!

dewlalt transmissions failed
Im just an Average weekend home repair guy.I use my Dewalt drills around the house only...after exactly one year and two months the drill that I got all of sudden stoped working it comes to find out that since day one I’ve had an issue but never really paid attention since I only use a drill maybe for light duty stuff around the house, and hardly noticevthe loos of power or strength on trying to drill a hole in a stud. I contact Dewalt they had me sending the item to be fixed and I’m about 4 to 5 months over the one-year warranty which by the way sucks and told me it was gonna cost me $75 to fix a drill that I can go get brand new for $99 on sale. When any company offers a one-year warranty only don’t buy that means it’s really cheap and they won’t even cover it I will never use buy Dewalt products ever again they suck and they’re cheap not worth it

Awesome drill. Bought this for a friend who needed it for a demo project. Took out a whole lot of screws in a floor in no time. Kept it's charge even after job was completed. The bits were awesome in catching the stripped screws. All around satisfied and impressed with this brand of tool. Will be getting one for myself. The price was just right.

Good weight, easy to handle, very good power - a very nifty little drill. I was unable to get replacement batteries for my current drill so I had no alternative but to purchase a new one. It's great that it comes with two batteries so you should not run out of power if you're doing an extended project and a carrying bag to protect the drill. I specifically wanted a drill that had a worklight on it as I sort of never get anything straight and end up using a headlight to be able to see what I'm doing. I've only had the drill since August 15th but so far I'm very happy with it. Nice product!
