Connect to my main faucet??

Hi can I use this to connect to my soaker hose in my flower bed garden and connect this tubing to my main faucet which is about 60-70ft away. I need to connect my soaker hose so I don’t have to drag my hose all the time and save me water.
Asked by: Catherine
Hose type ends for this are available in the store, with and without built in filters. They screw directly onto your hose bib. Pressure regulators are also available as part of the hose end fitting and usually consists of a simple disk with a small hole in it which will hold the pressure down to approximately 30 lbs. This can be important if you are using drip irrigation emitters.

This is just a roll of hose and comes with nothing. Fittings, hose ends, corners, Tees, splice connections, filters, pressure regulators, end caps, barbs, piercing tools, drippers and etc are all available. Not sure what you mean by a compression end for this.

What other types of fittings can be used that might hold up better for example in hot water use

Asked by: Me
This is not meant for hot water use, and especially not for use in residential plumbing. The main purpose of this is for drip irrigation, small water fountains, small pond re-circulation, running underground to supply automatic cattle tank fillers and other non hot water, non interior water transport uses. For hot water lines use PEX or hot water rated PVC and the appropriate fittings. Sun warmed water is not a problem for this tubing.

If 1/2 in is the inner diameter. What is the outer diameter of the tubing?

Asked by: Anonymous
Actual spec is 0.700" OD. Wall thickness is 0.046" so ID is 0.608", not 0.50"

My recommendation is based on a previous purchase and the fact that bought this product again. I have opted to install drip watering for all of my garden, bushes, and all landscaping except for the grass area. Direct watering saves a significant amount water and money since we live in a "High Desert" climate and water source is the city water system. This tubing allows you to target certain areas and also provides the ability to modify your landscape as you add new plants. It takes a little bit of time to lay the tubing since the coil is tightly wound and tend to kink as you lay it out. However, be prepared to use landscaping staples you fasten it to the ground as you lay it. Buy a package of figure-8 tube ends to make an end of line termination. You can extend your line in the future by adding a coupling. The tubing is connected by pressing it over a plastic-barbed fitting. I recommend having a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the end of the tube and it will slide onto the connections with very little effort and it hold tight as the tube cools (a few seconds).

The only complaint I have is that is so thin walled that it is difficult to use when it is cold. I always set it in the sun for awhile or bring it in the house if it is not warm enough. A small price to pay for a system that works well.

Water flows thru it w/o resistance and it is ideal for drip irrigation. Get the fittings for making corners because it will not bend much w/o kinking.Used this stuff for years and always come back and get more when i need to expand. Punches easily for drippers and withstands direct sun for years w/o failure.

Installation was somewhat difficult, trying to keep it from getting tangled up and or getting a kink was a chore. Unknown how it's going to hold up to the vegas heat, guess I'll have to give it a few months before I can reccomend this product. On the plus side you get quite a bit of material for the price!

This 1/2 in tubing was easy to work with and stronger that I thought, The tubing actually held up to some chewing from my nosey South African Boerboel puppy. I highly recommend this poly tubing for your drip irrigation needs.
