Answer This Question

A:  I would say no, unless your current rollers are too long. It would be best to stick with the size of your current rollers.

by|Mar 19, 2020

A:  You will need to measure and figure out if the 7 inch is not too short or comes off when your door opens and closed. Check the wear marks on the old roller and measure from the roller to the far end of the wear mark. If if it's less than 6 inches then you should be fine using the 7 inches.

Answer This Question

A:  You do not need to lubricate these rollers. The high-performance mobile grease grade XHP 222 grease in the bearing cage is protected in the 6200ZZ bearings by the sealed cap.

A:  It is a great product for anyone to use in their garage door. Just be careful, and take all the time you need. In my case because the sectional garage door has 6 sections. I needed 14 to complete the job, so I ordered another set of the rollers, as they only come in sets of 10. My steel door is over 35 years old, and the original rollers were worn out. All doors sold today have 10 rollers or less. I highly recommend this product. JohnP

A:  I believe this roller is sealed for life of roller, may have to check with manufacturer.

      by|Jul 16, 2021

A:  These rollers are already lubricated with high-performance Mobilgrease Grade XHP 222 grease in bearing cage that disperses periodically, so there is no need to lubricate these rollers.

These have a 7-inch stem and are designed so you can install a second hinge on your door. The wording in the description is: • Hurricane-rated: the 7 in. stem permits support from 2 hinges to increase durability during a high-wind hurricane or other severe weather That would make them extremely strong against the wind. I have a chain driven opener so it’s not very quiet to begin with, but I noticed an improvement once I replaced the original metal rollers with the new nylon rollers. In searching how to replace the rollers, most videos showed someone bending the track and then popping the rollers out one by one to replace them. Instead I used an impact driver to remove all the hinges. Each only had 3 short bolts and the job was quick. These rollers will last the lifetime of the garage door.

More than I needed but worth the cost for a lifetime of performance. Model # DLMR6200ZZ7 Internet #306315835 DURA-LIFT Ultra-Life Max 2 in. Sealed Nylon Garage Door Roller with 7 in. Stem (10-Pack)in. Stem (10-Pack) My old doors were dragging and hard to open and close. The reason is that over time dirt and other debris build up in the single bearing and causes friction and wear. At first I thought it would a big job but this is perfect a DIY garage door project. It took me about 2-3 minutes per roller and I did not have to remove the door just the roller bracket. See photos. My door had 5 roller per side so I was finished in under 30 minutes. Just install it and forget it. The Dura-Lift rollers have a protective seal covering the bearing which solved a lot of my problems, such as getting dirt into the bearings. Another is that it has a dual cage bearings instead of just one, so it rolls easier. The nylon roller is quieter than the old metal roller I had. You don't sacrifice durability since the roller has a lifetime warranty. My door is light but these door rollers are for your heavy glass or wooden garage and / or to protect against hurricanes, tornadoes and other severe weather. So how can I go wrong. MANUFACTURER'S COMMENTS: Lifetime guarantee: - Reinforced dual-wall bearing cage, sealed 6200ZZ ball bearing plus double plating thickness on stem designed for maximum performance and ultra-life weather protection - Rated for 125,000 plus door cycles for a 100 lbs. wood door (12.5X greater than the DASMA requirement for garage door rollers). Hurricane-rated: - The 7 in. stem permits support from 2 hinges to increase durability during a high-wind hurricane or other severe weather - Dual-wall bearing cage: dual-walled, reinforced bearing cage provides maximum strength and lifetime durability Sealed cap: - Protects the 6200ZZ bearings and the high-performance mobile grease grade XHP 222 grease in bearing cage, preventing dirt and grime from penetrating the bearings Nylon rollers: - Reduces noise up to 75% more than standard rollers Do-it-yourself: - Perfect for the DIY consumer to replace old, noisy rollers with the quiet, heavy-duty ultra-life rollers

Great Rollers! Gave our old garage door a tune up with these sealed bearing rollers. Super quiet with nice action compared to the old steel rollers. Swapping out the old for the new took about an hour from the time I pulled the cars out, gathered tools, disengaged the garage door opener, swapped them, cleaned up and put the cars back in. A simple, inexpensive upgrade to quiet your garage door and reduce wear on your opener. Ironically, I'm expecting these rollers to last longer than the door itself!

Awesome rollers! With the sealed bearing, I won’t have to worry about cleaning and grime build up, or, changing out my rollers anytime soon. BONUS the nylon wheels are completely quiet compared to the CLANG and BANG of my old metal wheels. It took me about 5 minutes to change them out and only needed a long screwdriver to pop the old ones out and a rubber mallet to pop the new ones in!! LOVE THEM!!

Major differences between my original garage door roller. The sealed bearing makes a big difference with noise and performance. My garage was not noisy but this new set of rollers made it even more quiet. The shaft are long but it did not affect the installation or operation and even added additional feature to add additional brackets. No need to grease the roller less mess and cleaner garage door.

Excellent product. I swapped out my original garage door wheels in about 30 minutes with the Dura-Lift wheels. The door rides up and down much smoother and very much quieter now. Very pleased with DuraLift.
