    Answer This Question

A:  Hi Jose! ECHO only manufactured one CS-490. That model featured a 50.2 cc engine. To compare another model, please visit the following link, https://www.echo-usa.com/chainsaws. Near the bottom on the left side, there is a "compare" option where you can select between three different models to compare.

Good chainsaw, has good power and very light weight. Starts easily after initially getting it going, out of the box you will need to yank that rope for 10+ times to start. Here is why it’s not a 5 star saw. The air filter clogs up very quickly, to a point of no power. After 3-4 hours of cutting firewood it would bog down and die, I thought it was defective, started messing with throttle and carb screws. Pulled the cover off and the filter was packed with fines, pulled the filter off there were fines inside the filter and carb intake, cleaned it up, washed/dry the filter and it came back to life. Tip: use some grease around the filter seal, and seat to prevent fines in the engine, keep a spare filter on hand and enjoy the saw.

CS-4910 has similar power to my old Husky 455, but weights 3lbs less! Much prefer this saw to old heavy saw. I bought this one based on experience with smaller Echo CS-3510 that is super light for limbing/small stuff.

          Nice little saw!
Wife gifted it to me, very impressed - compact, powerful, just enough for a homeowner to make firewood, relatively wuiet, starts really easy. Also - after many cuts i found that air filter is much cleaner that on my Stihl. Japanese parts, never had problems with other Echo's, nice waranty. Already cut a lot of oak 18-20in - no problem, for break-in period used echos red armor premixed. Metal body for this price - super good. Has huge potential for mods/porting, but stock cuts nice too

            Perfect for Firewood
This is my first Chainsaw coming off a horrible battery operated chainsaw that I abruptly returned after a couple of days feeling like the fool who was warned several times..... So in comes the CS 4910 after careful reviews and research on 2 Cyl Gas Chainsaws. WOW! I mean Super Wow! This thing is lightweight but feels strong and stable. It cuts through some wood like Smooth with very little vibration. Awesome Saw and great price!

              Believer the Reviews About Non-startability
Worked well through first gas tank. Then inadvertently pulled the start cord with the switch "off" - a couple times. Now it will not start - days on end. It's essentially brand new, so "maybe the spark plug" is not applicable. You can find one YouTube video on this problem - excess fuel gets into the cylinder in a liquid state- but the procedures it describes are 1) totally impractical - "defuel it, then slowly add fuel back in" and 2) not working for me. Just don't buy.

So far this thing has been a beast. First start-up was a little rough, but after things got moving it cut and cut. Took saw out to property, (out in the middle of nowhere) and cut several 18 in diameter or larger trees down without a hiccup. Purchased a replacement chain to take with me just in case it was needed, still in the sealed package.

Saw arrived in good shape with packaging in good shape as well. Initial start took a few extra pulls, but after that the saw starts, runs and idles well. Haven't had a chance to really push it yet, but worked great on clearing some small trees and clearing brush. Happy with my purchase at this point.

I have cut about 3 cord with this saw in the past month and have been heating my home and barn with wood for years. Great saw. Own a air compressor or don't own a saw and wine about an air filter getting clogged. Blow it out once a day and it's runs great. Just not 5 star power and build.
