Very nice quality, but not easy to install.
Excellent quality, price and customer service support. Not easy to install, definitely need 2 person to install properly. Read the instruction more than once and watch their video instructions. Note: all parts will be inside the box, make sure to unpack everything. Make sure to measure the width of your door as you might need the vertical spacer.

Door is rotting - can't recommend
I am really disappointed in this product. The door should never have started to rot from the inside out. I had this installed by Home Depot and everything appears to have been done right.

      Great Door for the price,
I am a weekend handyman and if I can install this anyone can, just make sure you have the correct tools take your time, and follow the directions. I bought the door 32" a bit smaller than the opening of 33" which would have been a custom size and more expensive, I built a frame around the opening with 1x2 to make the opening 32", that was pretty much the hardest part, and then just followed the install instructions. The door is solid and seals very well. The only thing it was lacking was spring and chain to keep the wind from overstretching the door but I picked one up in hardware for $5. Was a nice upgrade.

We are happy you are pleased with your purchase! However, kindly note that we strongly discourage installing wind chains on your Andersen Storm Door. In windy conditions and in case the door will be caught by the wind, it may be strong enough to pull the closers from the storm door panel or door jamb. The wind chain could fail and result in damage to both the door panel and door jamb. The best way to avoid wind damage is to make sure the door is latched completely after use. - Charmaine AWEMCOMarketing

Do not buy this door. First off, I am not a novice. I worked for years in construction as an electrician and continue to work with tools, building some of my own furniture. It wasn't really hard to install and when I first installed it, it looked great. However, the hinges are such that they hold the door about 5/16 of an inch away from the frame that comes with it and rain pours in. That gives no protection to my front door, which was the reason I bought this. The screws included to attach the hinges to the door were too long and the tip either poked out the other side or pushed the metal rim around the door away from the inside, which it is designed to protect. We had about a three inch rain the day after I installed the door and the next morning, the door wouldn't open as the top of the door on the hinge side has bent away from the hinge and the closure side was binding on the included door frame. I have used 1/4" spacers between the hinge and the door. However, the top hinge side of the door stall sags. I will give this two months before it is completely toast. Amco is owned by Andersen, and those two were the only ones in stock at Home Depot, I would find another place to buy a storm door. As cam be seen in the picture, the metal rim around the door is also poorly designed and sloppily installed as a number of the screws holding it were not fully screwed in, allowing the metal rim to come off in places..

We decided to purchase a storm door to let more light into the front of our home. When I saw that there were options with the colonial grills I was sold. This enhances the appearance of our home regardless if our other door is open or closed. We painted our existing side lite to match and it now looks custom from our front porch. Installation wasn't easy but it was our first time ever installing one and I am glad we won't be doing it again anytime soon haha. However, the instructions and existing videos you can find online are helpful. Just have patience and measure, measure, measure your existing trim.

So it serves its purpose. But the design could improve. The seams at the bottom and the inside portion of the door are not flushed so water and bugs will get into the door structure. The door warps naturally probably because the door stabilizing structure is non existing. The outside portion of the window has a sill. Why? So water, snow, ice or dirt can accumulate there, causing a whole new list of problems down the road. Makes no sense. Finally the handle.... The door will probably never close or lock properly because the locking mechanism unit is not made well. Like I said, it serves its purpose and esthetically, it is a pretty door. But it cost me money to install it and find all these issues with it; so returning it would only cause me to spend more money in removing it and reinstalling a new one.... Nevertheless, to expect this door to last 5 years will be a stretch. With that being said, it can be sold cheaper or advertised as a "temporary storm door for a quick fix", considering that there's a high probability that I may have to hire a handyman in the very near future to repair or replace once again. The wait is on, I guess the door is just waiting on a good rain or snow storm! So frustrating, no one makes things like they used!

Thank you for posting your feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Your storm door is a Rapid Install (Easy Install) door. The installation process for this model of door is from bottom to top and the sweep should be flushed to the door panel. There should not be a gap at the bottom if the door was installed from bottom to top. We will create a feedback about this concern. Great quality door
I got this door because I didn't want full glass and wanted a door that had a screen that was quality and under $300. This is my first time installing a storm door and seemed difficult at first. Follow the directions and steps exactly in order and the door will end up straight and aligned. You will need a drill and drill bits for the holes for the door handle which are 1/2" and 3/4" and I got away just using a 1/2" and making the 3/4" hole but didn't look pretty. My original wood door frame I attached the storm door too was not even but I followed the install steps exactly using the orange shims and black foam spacers and was able to hide the out of square area at the bottom of the door with the adjustable weather seal. The door took about 3-4 hours total to install since this one was my first install and took my time and had to read the instructions over and over. Overall this door looks great seems nice and sturdy and quality and silver hardware looks great! Very happy with the results and good price point.

The screen does NOT fully retract.
We purchased this storm door, yesterday. We are extremely disappointed. We chose this door for the retractable screen being on top as we have dogs and don't want them busting the screen out. So, upon installation seeing that it only retracts about half way is frustrating. The display at the store came all the way down. The bottom window moves as if off track. There is a dent, no a big deal in hindsight, but makes me believe the door was dropped or damaged prior to our purchase. It'd be nice if a service tech came and fixed the retractable screen issue or replaced the door in it's entirety. For $249.99+ tax. You would expect a storm door to be fully functioning.
