Q:I bought the A19?bulbs that are dimmable and color adjusting. They work in some light fixtures and not others. What causes this?

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi, the compatibility of our bulbs can vary depending on the specific characteristics and design of the light fixtures. Some factors that can cause varying performance include: -Voltage and Wattage: Different light fixtures have varying voltage and wattage requirements. It's important to ensure that the bulb's voltage and wattage ratings align with the specifications of the light fixture. Using bulbs with incompatible voltage or wattage can lead to performance issues. -Physical Fit: Some light fixtures have design constraints that may impact the fit of certain bulb shapes or sizes. It's possible that the bulbs are not making proper contact with the socket in some fixtures, resulting in intermittent or inconsistent performance. If the issue persists or you have further questions, we recommend contacting our customer support team at customerservice@leedarson.com. They will be able to provide personalized assistance and help troubleshoot the compatibility issues further.

A:  I've never bought color adjusting bulbs but I know dimmable LED bulbs won't work with some older dimmer switches. It will say on the switch if it can be used with LED bulbs or only with incandescent ones. This is because LED's use a lower voltage and older dimmer switch don't control that low voltage. Hope this fixes your problem.

Q:The box says to look here for information on dimmer compatibility, but I don't see any such information. Where is it?

A:  LED bulb dimmable manufacturers and LED dimmer companies- Leviton and Lutron both have on their webpages LED compatibility charts. Consumers are ignorant to these listings. HD associates likely re too. We need a list at the displays to avoid frustration.

                all failing within 2 years
I bought dozens of these and other ecosmart bulbs for my house. I replaced every bulb in the house when we moved in because I didn't like the color bulbs the previous owners used. 25% failed within the first year. the next 25% are failing into the second year. they start flickering for a few weeks then die completely.

                  Crisp YELLOW
Currently light testing for inviting effect. Bright white has a color temperature of at least 4000-4200K. These are more 3200K comparable to a regular soft white. Returning these guys back and putting back my daylights.

This particular bulb was recommended to me by my Opthalmologist. Being bright white and with a light appearance of 3,000 K makes it the perfect level of lighting for reading, and I found that it's absolutely excellent. Quite bright, and makes reading anything - book, mobile phone, laptop, etc., much easier. I absolutely plan to buy more of these for future use. Of course, like most excellent products, the company will probably discontinue them.

I have 15 of these installed in enclosed dome fixtures throughout the house, all on Lutron Maestro C-L dimmers. The 3000K color temp is closer to halogen than 2700K "soft white" LED and is noticeably less drab/depressing. 60W equivalent wasn't bright enough to usefully illuminate rooms through the frosted glass of my fixtures, while 100W equivalents are generally not available with an enclosed fixture rating. These are the sweet spot in brightness for frosted fixtures and are rated for fully enclosed use. Six months in none have failed, but we frequently use them dimmed which likely prolongs their life. I do wish these were available with CRI 90 or above, but no other 3000K bulbs are offered at the store at 1100 lumens. The nearest equivalent from CREE is available in-store only in 2700K or 5000K. You can get the CREE bulbs in 3000K but only by special order. (If you're picky about light quality, CRI 90+ is worth it!) There seem to be two designs in circulation with noticeably different dimming performance. I have a 50/50 mix of both even though the boxes and SKU were the same. Some start out extremely low (a good thing) and have smooth, consistent dimming all the way up. Others start out much higher at maybe 10%-15% brightness (still okay but not as great) and have a jump in the curve maybe 1/3 up. Because they come in packs of two, and my dome fixtures use three bulbs, I had to swap bulbs back and forth among the fixtures to get all three in each fixture dimming the same. At full brightness they look the same, but they differ as they are dimmed to where you might think a bulb is burned out. Evidently there are two designs and/or two suppliers. Overall I am happy with them, but wish I could get slightly better for a few extra dollars locally.

I used these 800-lumen LED bulbs to replace old, but still working CFL bulbs. Even though the CFL bulb specs claimed a much higher amount of lumens, the EcoSmart LED bulbs provide brighter illumination.

I purchased these lights to replace bulbs that had blown. I was amazed at how much these actually brighten the area. Once I saw the brightness in the one area, I've now replaced all the bulbs in my home. If you want an area in your home to be well lit, these are for you!

I used 50 of these bulbs in 10 new chandeliers in our church's Fellowship's Hall. All worked perfectly and the brightness of the bulbs consistently matched as the lights were dimmed.
