    Answer This Question

A:  The Everbilt 1/2 in. x 3/8 in. Female OD Compression Brass Reducing Coupling Fitting you will need to determine the size and type of threads on your existing stop valve at the wall. If it is ½” straight thread or slip joint then you will need a slip joint adapter Part number 801225. If the line is ½” tapered thread you would need part number 800899. Most modern faucet supply lines have 3/8” female compression fittings

A:  We do not carry a ½” Female compression to 3/8” compression fitting. We do carry a ½” female straight pipe thread (NPS) to 3/8” compression fitting in chrome.

Check for Defects. Quality Control Issue
Before you drive back home, make sure to check this item for defects. If you're gonna use this on the 3/8 supply line, check the outer end of the fitting thread if it's polished correctly or else, the sharp ends will break the washer of your supply line. The manufacturer needs to take the quality control seriously. Low quality products will negatively affect the cost of production.

Will not seal own its own
After tge first attempt to tighten and retighten found that a gap keeps from sealing. Water streaming. Read other reviews and teflon tape to do the trick. But the key is to wrap at least 4 times around till you almost can't thread. Had heavy duty tape that won the battle because i really didn't want to change the valve

This adapter worked great for my new kitchen faucet and hose replacement. Adding a bit of plumbers tape and ta da! No leaks, and all is in working order again! I had a mess under there, and it was leaking. The new faucet hose came with 3/8 and I needed to connect to the existing 1/2 hose. I also simplified the hoses, taking out one shut off valve, and leaving the other, since there was quite a mess under there from past owners.

This adapter saved the day when I switched out my 18 year old dishwasher and discovered the turn off value was an 1/2 inch instead of the more standard 3/8 inch waterline.

Installed a new sink faucet and the connections weren't the same size of the 3/8 copper pipe I didn't want to change the pipes so I bought the unions and they got me out of a tight spot. They worked the way I needed them to and my new faucet works great too!
