Two of these bolts broke in half the day after they were installed. I replaced them with bolts that cost 30% as much which are doing great. Definitely not worth the price for these.

5/16 in Galvanized Lag Screw Failures
I bought a box of 50, 5/16 in x 6 inch Galvanized Lag Screws Everbilt #275097. Using the suggested pilot hole of 3/8 inch for the entire length of screw and a 5/16 inch pilot hole for the diameter and length of the screw immediately after the hex head, 3 of the first screws that i started to screw into pressure treated yellow pine with hex wratchet set all 3 sbapped off just about where the threaded screw part began on the screw. I am returning the box of 50 that i ourchsed at an incredible price of $114.

      Weak
I snapped one of these lags by hand while screwing a board into a tree trunk. (The tree itself was cut down, a 14 foot trunk remained) The hole was pre-drilled. Poor quality.

        Strong
Strong bolt for sure. I chose these for the weather resistance and so far so good.

Nothing lagging about this screw (bolt)
Work great and perform as needed. Nicely finished -no slag and extra sharp bits. Perfect for weather/moisture exposure as well as with use when in contact with pressure treated lumber (a must!)

Good screws. Did not strip the head when using with socket wrenches and pre drilled holes. Very good grip on metal bracket to wood fence posts.

These are the correct screws for my 2x6 decking. Warning - If your bit slips in the screw head, remove the screw and toss it. Once the bit slips, either the bit or the screw is stripped or both. Not worth driving damaged screws, in case you need to remove it later.
