Q:What is the max outlet pressure?
by|Oct 18, 2022

Answer This Question

A:  SubSailor-This is a jet pump and does NOT have it's own pressure. The pump pulls water from a well, and it must be connected to a Pressure Tank. The pressure tank is what creates pressure for your home. The pump turns on and off when the pressure tank is between 30 and 50 PSI. Time to Pump It Up!
When it comes to shallow well pumps, most may view this one as a little shallow. Though it's not a solid cast iron shell, it'll do the job. The motor is standard, 110/220 switchable, made easier with an actual switch. The pump part seems like plastic but perhaps a composite or carbon fiber making it lighter and thinner. If you need a shallow well for a cabin or campsite this is perfect. Standard mounts and solid. Perfect for a "helper" pump for irrigation or livestock too. Easy to maintain and no rust. A solid value.

Heavy solid and sturdy. Top quality.
What a very well made pump. This thing is solid and heavy not much plastic. This should be a well pump that will last you many many years. Replacing my old well for my sprinkler system and this does the trick. Comes complete with everything you need including a pressure gauge and shut off. It's nice to have the on-off switch when the pressure get lows it kicks on and off as needed to bring it back up to pressure. This can be ran with either 2:30 or 1:15 volt. It sets up at 2:30 but you can switch it over to the lower voltage if you do not have the proper power available. So basically what I'm saying is it runs on standard house current. Even at its deepest depth in office 6 gallons per minute which is more then sufficient for a home most faucets are only 2 gallons per minute. This is a great buy and great value.

          Heavy-Duty Pump
We chose this pump for a variety of reasons: first, it is Everbilt which is an excellent manufacturer which we have purchased previously for their products. We are going to use this shallow jet pump for our RV. It will be installed soon and give us good water pressure when needed. This pump is designed to pump water from a shallow well up to 25" deep and is also self-priming after pump housing is initially filled. It has a built-in switch that easily converts the power supply from 230V to 115V plus a fan-cooled motor extends the life of the pump. The fan-cooled option is why we wanted this because these kind of pumps can easily get over-heated and quit working. The reviews we saw on this product urged us to try it. We did a short try with it and we believe it will be better than anything else we are using. Highly recommend you try it.

Everbilt 3/4 HP Shallow Well Jet Pump
I will be using this pump to pull water from a storage tank and pressurizing a bladder type pressure tank, ultimately feeding a garden irrigation system. The pump should maintain 30 psi pressure in my garden irrigation system. The pump is designed to be used as a shallow well pump (25 feet deep or less). Detailed instructions are provided, and include options for well point (driven well), cased well, and surface water applications. The pump is designed to be connected to a household water storage tank. The pump has a built in pressure switch that is preset to 30psi cut-in (pump on), and 50psi cut off (pump off). The pump is dual voltage, capable of being operated at either 115v or 230v. Voltage is selected with an integral switch. At ground level the pump should deliver 9 gpm at 40psi. (7gpm at 15’ well depth). Maximum pressure is 65psi. My storage tank is at ground level, so the pump will not have a draft. Well packed with recyclable packing. Made in China

          Shallow Well Jet Pump
After mixed reviews for this pump I decided to give it a try. This pump is easily adjusted for 115v or 230V operation by just removing a small cover and flipping or sliding a switch. The pump comes from the factory set at 230v so if you’re going to use it with 120v don’t forget to move the switch! The housing of the pump is plastic and does not affect the taste of the water that I have noticed. The pump comes with a pressure gauge and that is all, you will need to supply everything else for the installation. My well is very shallow (25’) and this pump does well at providing a good flow. There are very basic instructions included with the pump. The pump is self priming AFTER you initially prime it and you must use a check valve on the intake pipe or it will not stay primed. Make sure you have a tee installed on the intake and output side to enable you to prime the system. It took quite a while to prime and I had to prime the system several times before it started pumping water. I did have to make a small adjustment to the pressure switch and it now provides a good flow. I can recommend this pump as it works well in my set up.

Decent pump but didn’t meet advertised performance. (See NOTE in review)
BACKGROUND: We have a backyard well that is 40 feet deep with a water level 10 feet below ground level. We have tried several pumps to get more than 4-5 gallons per minute (gpm) of flow. Our current pump is a booster pump that produces 3.33 gpm. The Everbilt J200A3 advertised 8 gpm so we decided to try it. NOTE: This pump did not perform to the stated level for the lift required from our well. However, NO PUMP has performed to specs on our well, even with 30 feet of well pipe below the water line. I mention this because it is possible the suction line is restricted somewhere down-well and that is affecting performance. FIT AND FINISH: The pump is at the same standard of materials and workmanship of other types of light-duty pumps. The pump casing is fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastic which offers strength and lighter weight than cast iron. The motor is smallish for ¾ hp but probably reflects motor design and construction improvements, or a desire to use the least material possible. The capacitor and pressure switch boxes are metal and plastic which is also commonly used. I did notice the pressure tube from the pump casing to the pressure switch is a clear vinyl-type material. This concerns me because the pump is located outside in a minimally sheltered location. Time will tell how the plastic components withstand the sun and elements. FEATURES: From the product page, with my comments as appropriate. • Safeguarded by an auto reset thermal overload protector to prevent overheating. o Standard on almost every motor I’ve ever owned. • The pump comes ready to install. o It took me very little time from cutting the tape to a finished installation, even including the time to uninstall the old pump. • Designed to pump water from a shallow well up to 25" deep o As our well has a 10-foot lift this is well withing the parameters for proper operation. • Self-priming after pump housing is initially filled o The pump was easy to fill and primed quickly. We have a check valve in the suction line within 18 inches of the pump suction, so there is minimal lift required between cycles. • Lightweight construction of fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastic is corrosion-resistant and convenient for moving and installing the pump o Already mentioned in FIT AND FINISH section. • Built-in switch easily converts the power supply from 230V to 115V o All our recent pump purchases have included this very handy feature. Much better than swapping leads or re-tying wires. • Fan-cooled motor extends the life of the pump o This motor is Totally Enclose Fan Cooled (TEFC) which is weather resistant. • Certified to both NSF/ANSI CAN 61 Standard for Safe Drinking Water and NSF/ANSI 372 Lead-Free Standard o We don’t drink our well water, but we do water the vegetable gardens, so this is nice to know. • Comes with a 30/50 pressure switch and pre-installed pressure gauge o The switch on this pump cut off about 42psi, which is fine for our watering application. The adjustment for cut-off pressure is a threaded adjustment in the pressure switch housing. • 1" NPT Suction and Discharge o This is incorrect. The suction is 1 ¼ FNPT. The discharge is 1” FNPT. • Typical Applications: homes, cabins or farms on private wells; low-flow, small-scale sprinkler systems. o I had hoped to increase our irrigation loop size but will not be able to do it with this pump based on its lack-luster performance. INSTALLATION: I was fortunate that the intake and discharge were the same as my old pump and the intake height was the same as well. I drained the pressure tank, disconnected the electrical and water, removed the old pump, reconnected everything and was done. I did have to move the electrical to the opposite side from the old pump, but when I initially ran my electrical, I included extra liquidtite conduit to allow for future pump replacements. OPERATION: Once connected and primed it was just a matter of turning the power back on. The pump primed, charged the pressure tank, and turned off. PERFORMANCE: As I mentioned before, the pump did not perform to the specification in the owner’s manual. Before I disconnected the old (Booster) pump, I did a flow test using a ½in ball valve through a short piece of plastic pipe. I repeated the test after I installed the new pump. The (old) Booster Pump produced at 3.33 gpm, or 200 gph. The (new) Jet Pump produced 3.14 gpm, or 188 gph. This was not the 8gmp in the specs, but was close enough to the old pump I decided to leave it in place and keep the old pump for a backup. SUMMARY: Nice pump but didn’t perform as expected. Pete-Thank you for your review. If all pumps are failing to pull water, you might want to check the line. Foot valves need to be changed every 5-7 years so you might want to pull up your line to inspect that. Also, you might want to check the exact length that the pump has to pull water up. This would be the length from the foot valve to the elbow. The water line is irrelevant as suction commences at the foot valve. -GP Support

          Nice 3/4 HP Well Pump
This Everbilt 3/4 HP Shallow Well Jet Pump was surprisingly easy to install. It comes complete with the pressure gauge attached. The instructions were complete and made it easy for me to install and prime the pump. This pump replaced a 1/2 HP pump. To my surprise, there was a larger difference with the increase of just 1/4 HP. Great pump for fresh water wells.

This one pump. will replace a previous E "EVERBILT" pump, I try to be proactive. The other pump has not given me any problems, just switching it out. Prime this pump, and your good to go. Do remember to read the instructions thoroughly, read them, will spare you a ton of grief on the priming protocol. Do note that this is a hard wired pump, seen questions asking where the pump is. I run mine on a 30 Amp.

          Great item
My old pump at the garden quit working on me, so I chose a brand I am well aquatinted with the Everbilt shallow well pump. We have several wells on our property so a reliable well pump is a must have. I like that this one has a bottom drain, easier to winterize. It does not come with a tank but luckily I have one. The directions are pretty easy to follow. It has a quick start quide plus an important notices page and a one year warranty. This along with my timer and soaker hoses keeps my vegetables looking good.
