Product Overview

These durable and attractive compost bins feature a unique wall panel design allows air to continuously flow upwards along all 4 side panels. The AeroQuick Compost Bins have been put through rigorous testing at a facility in southern Italy, which features a climate similar to Las Vegas, Nevada USA. Their oldest test composters at that site are 15 years old and still working fine.
  • New air flow system: unique wall panel design allows air to continuously flow upwards along all 4 side panels
  • Much heavier duty/stronger than most other similar designs – material is 5 mm thick
  • Polyamide (nylon) corner clips are much stronger than any other compost bin, but still easy to remove if some one wants to take the unit apart
  • Compost bins are made from: high grade polypropylene copolymer resin – up to 40% recycled material

Yes, it contains smells very well. There ae small air vents to allow air in, but if you leave headspace above the compost mixture, bad smells are absorbed.

General rule is: 2/3rd brown 1/3rd green (kitchen organic waste). A great material to use for brown is shredded paper. You can look on our website to see specific recommendations: www.exaco.com

Does the contents need to be turned periodically? How does it hold up in winter?

This is an extra durable unit specifically designed for extra cold weather (deep frost) and also extreme hot weather. They do not effect this composter - you should be able to use it for 10-15 years. Yes, it is recommended that oyu turn your compost pile every so often: the Europeans have for a century done this by simply picking up the unit itself - place it close by (new location) and with a pitch/garden fork lift the compost pile back into the composter. Americans usually buy a compost mixing tool - a 36" or so round shaft with a T-handle and 2 wings on the bottom. You push this down into your pile and lift it straight up - this also does a decent job mixing the compost pile. Need more info - just call us: exaco - 877-760-8500 ext 701.

Easy to assemble and secure fasteners. By the thickness of the panels I expect it to last more than 10 years.

Great product, super quality, really big. The install instructions were awful, no video on you tube. In the end I was able to figure out how it went together with the photo.

Interesting, it is seldom we hear any one call this product flimsy. It is made from 5 mm plastic which is of the very highest quality in the industry - as such its cost. It may feel a little "loose" while it is still empty - no surprise that is a very big unit - however as soon as you have some buildup of debris in the unit it totally stabilizes. I have never heard of one breaking apart (and we have been selling this unit for over 8-years). Due to the quality for hte plastic this you is expected to last you about 15 years. I think you will be surprised at its quality in the long run. Any comments contact us: Exaco: 877-760-8500 ext 701. Exacotrading
