About This Product

This unique tumbling composter features two bodies. Fill one side, while the other side cures, making it easy to efficiently convert your kitchen and yard waste into rich soil enhancing compost. Just load it up, close the sliding door and use the convenient built- in hand holds to give it a turn every couple days and see how it produces finished compost in weeks. The tumbling composter is made with recycled, UV-inhibited, BPA-free, black plastic which absorbs heat. Help divert waste from landfill or costly processing and turn your own organic waste into compost in your own backyard.

  • Tumbling design makes mixing easy and efficient, just close the door and turn it 5-6 times every 2-days to 3-days, in hot sunny conditions and with a proper balance of ingredients the compost can finish in as little as 2-weeks
  • Easy to use-fantastic for beginners, the large openings and removable doors make it easy to add scraps/clippings and remove finished compost, deep fins on the body provide great ergonomic handholds
  • 2 separate bodies allow the first side to finish while leaving the second side available to add fresh scraps/clippings, continuously swapping sides after finishing will create an uninterrupted flow of rich, healthy compost
  • Excellent aeration-all our composter models feature aeration holes as well as deep fins to break up clumps inside the chamber and mix lots of oxygen into the compost, tumbling composters allow far greater aeration than standard models
  • Durable construction-BPA free, U.V. inhibited recycled polyethylene is contact safe and will not degrade under direct sunlight, the painted galvanized steel frame is corrosion resistant and will look great for years
  • Weather resistant and damage resistant

A:  Note that full instructions, assembly & warranty are linked in Home Depot's Product Info Section

A:  If the frame is only 21"/22" wide you need to reverse a few of your pieces. The pieces that are shaped like the letter "L" need to have the LONG section of the L-shapes on the ground. If the frame is too narrow it has been assembled with the short side of the L-shapes on the ground. If you reverse your L-shaped pieces the frame will be correct.

Q:I got one of these today. The doors are quite stiff to open/close. I'm thinking that rubbing on some candle wax might help. Am I overlooking some reason why that's a bad idea?

      Answer This Question

A:  The plastic is very contact safe so there won't be an issue with the wax. If your unit is in the shade try leaving it in the sun. When the chamber gets hot the plastic will expand slightly so the door might loosen. If it becomes an issue please contact us at the factory.

I am kind of new to composting, but so far this item has worked very well. I choose it for its dual chambers, the fact that each compartment is constructed out of a single piece of material (other than the door), and that it is elevated. Many other designs have compartments that are comprised of many pieces that have to be screwed together. I could envision those screws failing over time in a composter. I am pretty confident that this composter will last a long time. It is also off the ground making it more difficult for rodents and insects to enter it. I found that spraying the support arms with cooking spray keeps crawling insects out of it. Other composters I was interested in cost three to four times as much. I am very happy with my purchase so far. My garden is about 250 sq. ft and we are only composting the food waste from two people. This product seems to be a great size for these requirements.

No instructions, pay attention to the blue plastic caps on the pipes - and (darn it) I'm still too stoopid to put this thing together so that barrels rotate - so far as I am concerned, another two or three inches of crossbar would sure be nice. Ordered in March, delivered in September - not happy - still trying to get it put together properly.

              Easy To Use
Easy to assemble. Doesn't take up alot of outdoor space. Haven't had it long enough yet to get my 1st batch of compost, but looking forward to it. Easy to rotate the compost compartment(s).

I like it. It fits my needs as far as size and volume. It was easy to assemble and turn. Sliding the doors in and out is fairly easy you just have to be careful and don't bump them too hard and send them flying. They are secure when closed. They are currently brewing the first batch of compost and it's coming along nicely.

              Spin it with ease
So far I love this composter. It was fairly simple to put together as the drums are fully assembled. The drums hold quite a bit and each one is easy to rotate. It may be a few more weeks before I see compost but I'm sure that will occur. I've composted before in a tower style unit.
