We have 2 of these doors. The hinges are a brushed looking stainless steel. Have had both doors a little over a year now. We love them!!!

You can purchase a slab only as a special order at your local store. Will be hinge prepped to our specs.

Yes. It would be a special order at your local store.

This is prehung.. is there room for a storm door to be installed?

Asked by Steph August 25, 2020

Answers

Yes there is. I installed a Larson hidden closet door on it.. And it works beautifully together.

Are there other styles of the inserts for the lites/grilles available for purchase/replacement?

Asked by sjslee July 19, 2020

Answer

This is a molded lite frame with 1/2" glass. We do not have sdl kits at this time that could make up another grille design. We do have a 3-Lite stained frame with 1" clear glass. You would need to buy the glass and lite frame(s)

If you want a door with windows buy a different brand!
The door looks good from the outside but definitely not acceptable on the inside! I bought a "Metro" door with 5 windows and each window has 8 plugs that cover the screws that are impossible to push in the holes! 40 plugs that don't fit! When I called and asked what the secret was to getting these plugs pushed in I was told they probably expanded and put them in the freezer. It's been 55 degrees and colder in the garage where they have been kept so I don't think they expanded. If labels bother you that's another reason not to buy these doors. The "clear" labels are sandwiched between the 2 panes of glass so there is no way to scrape them off! I have bought several fiberglass doors from other companies and never had these issues. I would not buy one of these again!

Thanks for the review and comments. Sorry that you find the plus difficult to install. Sometimes starting at an angle makes them easier to install or crimp the end. Any glassbis required to have a tempered bug...any door company. Feather River Customer Service FeatherRiverDoor

DEFINITELY doesn't hold up in sunlight!!!!
I had this door installed approximately 6 years ago. It was beautiful for about 1 year, and then it literally started melting. Glue turned dark yellow and started dripping down the glass...now the fiberglass is cracking and exposing the orange color on inside. From a distance its a beautiful door...but if you get full sun all day, look for another door. I've had 2 other front doors with no problems...unfortunately I wanted the craftsman look, but regret purchasing this door, its a mess and wasn't cheap.

Thanks for the review. Based on the photos you attached it looks like this door has a full view storm door over the door. This is causing excessive heat build up which is why you have caulk oozing from the lite frame and frame has cracked. Also reason you are also starting to see stain discoloration. Not a manufacturing issue but issue caused by the non venting full view storm door. If you have any concerns you can reach out to frcontact@frdoors.com. Not for southern exposure
It looks great for awhile, and would probably be fine on the north side or in a well shaded area. It will not hold up if it’s facing south or exposed to much sunlight. I’m having serious issues with the clear coat pealing. I’ll probably just end up painting it

Thanks for the review. Not sure how old the door is but any stained door does require maintenance. Every 3-4 years you should apply a polyurethane top coat with uv inhibitors to protect the stain finish. If not the top coat will deteriorate. So the doors will hold up with a southern exposure if properly maintained. You can contact us a frcontact@frdoors.com is you have any questions. Feather River Customer Service FeatherRiverDoor

Had this door installed as part of a modification to our home. We absolutely love it. Let's in plenty of light. Color is very vibrant. Door is very easy to clean. And when closed. Seals up tightly. Our neighbors love it. As well as people stopping by. It adds character to our home. Hopefully we will have it for many years to come!!!

For the price you just can’t beat the product. You will need the extension kit if your door is 2x6. Don’t forget the best way to reassemble the door is with a finish nailer. Be sure you open the extension kit before you leave the store. We opened 3 kits that were missing door sills.

Bought this door about a year ago for a remodel project. I'm a custom home builder so I'm familiar with a range of high end doors. This door is great! Don't ever put a storm door on it and it should last quite a while. Storm doors set up a greenhouse effect and could cause a problem with any non-steel door..

Thanks for the positive review and comments on the door as well as the storm door effect which is more of an issue on the lite frame on steel and fiberglass doors. We hope you continue to enjoy your 6-Lite Mahogany Entry Door. Feather River Customer Service FeatherRiverDoor

EXTREMELY disappointed. We bought two of these doors and installed them. Within a few months we have to make a claim on the warranty for one of them. The trim around the glass has warped and even caused the door to crack. Time to file a warranty claim. Hopefully they will stand behind it.
