A: Hi, I'm Andrew from GRK. The white head coating on these cabinet screws does not thoroughly cover the underside of the head or the shank, so there will not be a polymer barrier to prevent dissimilar metal contact between the zinc-plated screw and the stainless steel vent hood. With exposure to cooking vapors and steam, it is possible for moisture to attack the screw’s zinc plating at an accelerated rate due to dissimilar metal contact with the vent hood. The use of a white steam-resistant plastic washer may effectively remove the issues of dissimilar metal contact (ID = .188", OD = .438", Thickness = .036" - .065").
A: Hello, I'm Andrew from GRK. Yes, your described application is what these products are intended for.
A: Hi, no pre-drill is necessary. However, if the end user prefers to pre-drill, we would recommend 3/32” or 1/8”. If you have more questions, feel free to call us at (877) 489-2726 or email us at CS@itwbrands.com
A: It would work but it is not the best screw for exterior use
A: yes, but why would you pay for cabinet screws with wacko screw heads when regular one-inch screws would work just as well?
A: Hopefully the lattice is 1/2" thick then yes.
A: These are indoor screws and will degrade outside over time.
A: Yes. But it has to be done slowly. I had used them on a project similar at my home with no issues
