From low voltage wire to service entrance cables, professionals rely on Gardner Bender for quality fastening products. Gardner Bender's standard and most popular staple used to secure NM (non-metallic) cable. At 1/2 in. wide and 1-1/8 in. long these staples are recommended for 14/2, 12/2 and 10/2 NM, Romex or other types of NM cables. Gardner Bender's 1/2 in. metal staples are preferred in the industry as they are slightly longer than competing models, which improves holding strength and makes them easier to grab.

      A:  Hello Keen, thanks for the question. When we call out 3 conductor we talk about the amount of conductor in the cable itself. On the packaging picture you'll be able to see 12/3 as one of the callouts which is a 12 gauge 3 conductor wire. These specific staples are rated for one 14/3, 12/3, or 10/3 cable per run. Hope this helps!

          Very low grade metal
          Not usable. Metal is too soft. Of the first ten (10) I used, one (1) went in straight. Five bent up like pretzels but good enough to hold the wire, and four had to be pulled because they were useless. Returning the whole thing - the extra trip will be less work than getting staples made of better metal.
