Q:What amperage can these handle?

Answer This Question

A:  This model has a 600V maximum. The amperage maximum could not be found.

A:  You have to use electric common sense. Anything over 2 amps you don't want to use a quick disconnect for. You want a lug terminal that can screw down. The surge current can make these connectors fly off the terminals

A:  The current carrying capacity of FASTON type terminals like these is based on the wire size and the width of the blade. In general, the 0.250 (1/4 inch) terminals match the wire they are crimped to, so a blue FASTON crimped to 16 AWG would be good for 10 Amps continuous, on 14 AWG it can be used for a 15 Amp load. The exception is the yellow connectors on 10 AWG, where the limiting factor is the connector and the current is limited to 14 Amps (you can find more on the web, try the Wikipedia page for FASTON terminals. If you're on the edge, check the ampacity for the wire based on its insulation. By the way, the ratings given in the answer by Gardner Bender are just wrong – at least for any application subject to the NEC – running 16 AWG wire at 20 Amps is quite a stretch. The rating of the terminal won't change with the length of wire it terminates, what will change is the voltage drop and the amount of current that you can run while maintaining an acceptable voltage drop.

A:  A specific amperage rating isn't given to terminals/connectors because it would depend on the gauge and length of the wire that you are using which would vary within the wire range of the connector itself. For example if you were to run a 10-ft 16-AWG wire the amp-capacity would be roughly 18-20 amps, 20-ft would be roughly 8-12 amps, and 30-ft would be roughly 6-8 amps.

Does what you need. Just pay attention to the shape (male/female) and wire gauge listed on the packaging.

              perfect for batteries
Used on several occasions for terminal connections... Works great as long as you properly secure it aka hear shrink, sodder, cold sodder etc. Does what it's supposed to.
