A:  Hey Matt, these will work for Cat5e though it is slightly smaller than 1/4". There will likely be some room for the cable to move around within the staple, but shouldn't be anything to worry about. Hope this helps!

        A:  No, this item is designed for UF and other types of NM cables.

          A:  it certainly should,. technically there is one less wire in 12-3 than in 12-2,, that being the case it should work fine!

            A:  Hi LakeMan and thanks for the question. These staples are primarily used for NM and UF type cables, but they will work on 12-2 MC cable. If the cable run is to be up to code the inspector may not approve of the staple usage for 12-2 MC, but that would be up to them and local code. Hope this helps!
