Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nails in a pound / nails needed per square According to the GripRite web page there are about 218 1 1/4 nails per pound. You need 320 nails per 3 pack or square of roofing. A squre of roofing does 100 square feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enough for my 2000 square foot roof This bucket was just enough to finish my 2000 square foot roof. I probably have less than 100 or so nails left after completing the job. They were the right length for me, I was only going through one layer of architectural shingles. I probably should have bought a small container of slightly longer nails to take care of the ridge cap shingles where they went through multiple layers...but it has been a month and everything is still holding up alright.

Some were showing rust - new in box, indoors on Home Depot's shelf. Many were bending while being driven only through shingles, before even hitting wood - checked several with magnet to make sure they weren't aluminum. (Found different brand, rust-free & much sturdier, for same price elsewhere.)
