Q:Can this product be use with glue?

Answer This Question

A:  I would check with the manufacturer but I can't imagine why not.

by|Oct 5, 2022

A:  We used these screws when building a greenhouse. I wish we had used glue along with the screws on the wavy boards that the siding is screwed into. Over the last year, we have noticed that the boards have warped a little and have pulled apart and the screws alone didn’t hold.

A:  We cannot recommend uses for this nail outside of published application and uses.

      Answer This Question

      A:  Stainless screws are better

      by|Jul 19, 2022

A:  These are designed for exterior wood to wood applications and we cannot recommend use in applications that these are not designed for.

        by|Jul 21, 2022

A:  Yes they will work for exterior. Be sure to pre drill and countersink screw holes before installing screws. Otherwise you may crack or break the pvc trim.

Q:Are these approved for use with PT ground contact lumber (0.4 #/cf copper A) in wet conditions? Or is Stainless steel the only option (HDG is also not approved for wet conditions, only dry with PT lumber?

          Answer This Question

A:  I can't advise you on this question as I used them in repairing a broken lazy back chair kept indoor. I would not hesitate to use in wet conditions, but are they better than stainless ? Price & hardness I think is better, but in the long run stainless will out live them but cost more up front.

          by|Apr 6, 2022

A:  Yes, that application is one of the reasons coated screws are made.

          by|Mar 22, 2021

A:  Yes it is good for PT lumber.

A:  I don't think this would be a good choice because: 1) it says exterior screw 2) it doesn't have an anchor Look in the Dry Wall Anchor section

            Good product
These screws have worked very well for various projects. I have been very happy with this purchase. I have not had any issues getting the phillips head to fit these. They bite good and drive nicely. These have met my expectations and I haven't found anything that I dislike about them.

The screw head (Phillips cross) held up well to the force of the driver bit by not tearing up the slots/cross when driving the screw in with a rechargeable hand drill. The screw tip penetrated well and bit into the wood quickly.

Avoid at all costs, unless you do not mind only using about 40% or less of the box, and can handle getting a tad stressed from a philips #2 bit not fitting in. The issue is that the coating covers parts of the head of the screw. Two thumbs down, buy something else.

                  15 screws short
Box says 196, came with 181. I needed 192 for my project and now i have to make another run to the store because the box was 15 screws short of the count. The box was sealed and an 8% shortage is less of a quality control issue and more of a dishonest business issue.
