A:  I had no problems.

    A:  On the base of mine there is the switch which has three positions. If the switch is one way the remote will not work but if it was the other way it will. Try moving the switch on the base and see if that helps. I hope it does.

        A:  The timer function runs for five hours.

        A:  The timer has 4 settings for the timer, 2hr, 4hr, 6hr and 8hr in addition to the on and off buttons. There is also a candle button, which gives a flickering effect, a light button- steady light and two dim bottons, + and - which allows you to adjust the brightness. Hope this helps.
