Q:I'm trying to mount a 32" Flatscreen into Drywall (No Studs) will these work for that?

A:  Yes. It held my flatscreen securely.

A:  I think the answer is partially dependent on how thick your drywall is. The toggle may not fail but the drywall can if it isn't capable of bearing the load, which can be very messy because it will leave a large hole where the intact/horizontally set toggle gets ripped out when/where the drywall gives.

A:  I wouldn't use this brand to hang anything, 5 of the six I tried broke. If you can find HILTI brand this would be your best choice as they will stay in place when you remove the screw.

Q:My original plan was to use the power box to anchor the fixture but i seem to have metal ceiling joist behind the drywall so the box is not sturdy wnough to support the light fixture. I also was planning on using spring toggles but see these as easier to install and remove if necessary without losing the toggle

A:  They worked about 50 percent of the time, big waste of money and time

            by|May 14, 2019

A:  3 3/16" anxhors should be sufficient. Hitting a truss would be best though.

              by|Oct 31, 2018

A:  Yes they would work in Sheetrock, but I would still like to use the rafters with screws instead. Depends on the weight if the fixture, 3/16" toggle straps should work.

Q:I'm needing to mount a 40 lb shelf unit 7 feet up on a wall. Once I get the books etc on the shelf, I expect the total weight to be 150-200 lbs. The 1/4 20 toggles are rated for just 80 lbs. What if I use 9 toggles to mount the shelving unit. Is my 200 lbs divided by the 9 toggles? In other words each of the nine toggles would be supporting around 22 lbs each. The top row might have a little more of the shear weight on them. Are the any issues with my application or approach? Thank you

A:  Keep in mind that your drywall is held by a dozen drywall screws to keep it up. Too much weight on the drywall may rip the whole wall off. It happened to me on my clothes shelve when I have too much clothes on the rack. My recommendation is to find the stud and attach your shelve to it.

A:  Yes if you spread the total weight evenly across the shelving unit you can add the weight capacity of each anchor used. If you are concerned with the top row then I would make sure I had at least three toggles supporting the top row. (240 lbs of weight support. If you can add a fourth for additional strength, that would be a better solution.

A:  I would not trust that much weight on drywall alone. I'd install some structural backing and re-drywall the area.

                        by|Aug 21, 2019

A:  Yes. The load rating is per anchor as long as you spread them out sufficiently. The rating is depndent on the thickness of the drywall, thicker drywall higher rating. 2lbs. Shear in wall if fine even with 1/2" drywall.

                        by|Oct 31, 2018

A:  With that kind of weight I'd be looking for more than drywall to hold it up. Either have at least two of the screws hit a wall stud or use what is called a "backer board" (plywood mounted to studs behind the drywall. While additional toggles does increase the weight rating you could exceed the load rating on one-two toggles. Additionally the drywall might not put up to a 200 lb load directly on the drywall. If you're pulling books on and off the shelf that's going to create more shear force and wear out the anchors.

bought 18 (3 bags) of these to hang a very heavy wall cabinet on metal studs. Drilled and inserted the anchors fine; however once I started to run the screws into the anchors, the toogle (anchor) broke loose from the remaining strap ( plastic square part) and fell into the wall. I thought maybe I damaged it. So by hand I took an extra anchor, and outside the wall; made like I was installing it; broke off the ties, then gave a slight tug on the anchor and it pulled off effortlessly. So what was happening is when you try to insert the screw into the anchor it pushes the anchor off the remaining strap. Wasted 15 of these; and now need to start over. With another brand. Delayed my install and wasted my time and money. Poor quality product. I doubt I can return these since the other half of the device has fallen into the wall cavity. Looking for another brand. Should have read the ratings. Typical low quality product from Home Depot.

After hours of wasted effort pursuing other options I used these anchors to install a pedestal sink to a tiled wall when the blocking didn't align with the mounting holes.. If you're having trouble finding an anchor that really holds strong these are the ticket, forget the traditional toggles with their huge entry holes and chintzy bolts.. I think as long as you handle the plastic parts in a gingerly manner and make sure the toggle is properly aligned you shouldn't have problems- I did notice that the plastic seemed brittle but I removed and reinserted one toggle a few times and it didn't snap like some of the other reviewers mentioned. I love the beefy 1/4" 20 bolts that can be swapped out for longer hex heads for torquing down the mount in confined spaces (like the underside of a pedestal sink) Highly recommended for anything too heavy and important for plastic expanders or traditional toggles.

The toggle will support heavier objects well.
I used these to secure a hanging rail for kitchen cabinets into steel studs. This can be frustrating since some steel studs are too narrow for the toggles as is. I had to trim the business end so that it would straighten out when inserted. It is also difficult to get the screw to find the screw hole in the bolt. If the toggle is secured too tightly the plastic anchors will break before one can get the screw in. Once in though, they work well.

                                    very useful for certain situations
I used these successfully to attach several Ikea BESTA cabinets to the wall to avoid tipover. Because of the design of the Besta, where there's a drum to fill the space between the cabinet and the wall (to account for the space left due to baseboards), I did wind up using longer screws than came with the product, so it's fortunate that this works. The very useful feature in this case is that I can insert the toggle portion in the wall and use the straps to hold it before putting the bolt in - and then move the Besta cabinet in front of it, and then screw through the cabinet and into the toggle sitting in the wall, which would not be possible with a traditional toggle bolt. Since it's only for tipover prevention, and I don't plan on climbing on the cabinets, I can't attest to exactly how strong they are, although they seem sturdy enough.

seems to hold well, however it is very easy to break the zip tie portion and drop the metal nut down into the wall, thus losing it. this happened on 2 of the 6 I bought. I will stick with regular toggle bolts from now on
